Prediction: Miami Deals Up For Haskins

if dolphins want Haskins. they can get him or just wait in see who fall to them. Haskins ran slow time in 40.

I like Haskins, give up what we gave to move up for Jordan and I am in. As for next year? If he starts and is decent we are not assured of a top 10 pick. Hell with Tannehill missing games we still picked 13th! I like Fromm and Tua but I think Haskins is right there.

That's Haskins for essentially just a 2? I gotta make that deal.

I don't see any other scenario than KN going #1 and the Giants taking Haskins. They know Eli is almost finished and will want to groom Haskins to be their starter.

Deferring to 2020 to handle the quarterback posistion is incredibly stupid. Tua and Herbert aren’t can’t miss prospects. We definitely need grab one of these guys. Be it Lock or Haskins.

I know the statement has been made that Miami will wait to draft their franchise quarterback in 2020. That may still happen, but how often does a new coaching staff go year one without that position solved, or potentially solved? It's such a crucial position and waiting a year is always a gamble to an extent.

So, my prediction is that the Dolphins deal up for Haskins. I love Murray, but it sounds like there is a good chance he goes #1 overall. By the way, I think that would be a good move for Arizona. He is that type of prospect IMO, electric in every way. My main concern with Murray is durability due to his size/weight.

Haskins is right up there, though. I know he's only started one year and he's not the athlete Murray is, but he could have virtually everything this coaching staff is looking for, leadership, a strong arm, accuracy etc. He also could prove to be more durable than Murray, which matters. If you can't answer the bell, your value goes way down.

SF at #2 could be a potential deal partner. The 49ers really want and need a pass rusher so passing up Nick Bosa might be tough. The Jets, picking at #3, won't deal to Miami. I think the Dolphins would have to get above the NY Giants at #6.

Thoughts?

I’d say we need to get above the Giants for sure. So that leaves Tampa and Oakland as realistic trading partners. Both teams could still get a player to help them at 13 and add further picks to help aid their own rebuilds. Quite whether we want to pay the price to move up is another matter, but if Haskins is the guy, then they have to at least make the call.

As for the 49ers, they could be persuaded to trade back but I suspect it would need to be to 4th or 5th after we’ve moved up already rather than going all the way back to 13th. But if Nick Bosa is here, then it would have to be a huge offer for them to move back.

I don’t wanna trade up for anyone. I think we will be bad enough next year that we can take who we want in 2020 and not have to give up future first rounders. We all know that’s what it’s gonna take to move up in to the top 5

If our front office and coaching staff believe that Haskins is “the guy” who can become our first legitimate successor to Dan Marino, then in all honesty they need to do whatever it takes to go and get their guy. There’s no guarantee that guy will be there in next year’s draft. We’ve seen quarterbacks return to college and fall (eg Barkley) and we’ve seen quarterbacks return to college rather than come out (eg Herbert, Barkley, Luck) which might weaken the class. So while trading up for Haskins might be expensive and perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea, if our front office and coaching staff think he’s the guy, then they have to try and get him.

This let’s wait for next year is not a sustainable approach.

While I completely agree that if it's the guy go get him, I don't believe it's prudent to do whatever it takes.

We need picks to rebuild a team with many holes.

So the question is what is the price and the answer, IMO, is not at any price.

Out of reach is out of reach.

Obviously I’m making assumptions on the type of offense we are running based on our NE coaching staff but if those assumptions are correct Haskins is the perfect fit for that offense. That being said I’ll need to see some smoke before I believe that’s a possibility. I don’t think Miami even interviewed Haskins. I did find it interesting that Miami interviewed both Williams and Bosa. So maybe a trade up is not out of the question. I’m all for it but would wager large coin against Haskins being in Miami.

I hope we stay at 13. If we have to use like a 5th round pick to move up one or two spots for someone we really like then fine but keep your freaking picks and build the right way for once!!

Head to head Rosen’s a better prospect than Haskins. More active feet. Better feet in a muddy pocket. Coming out at least.

Very similar though in that protection matters A LOT

When you factor in Rosen’s concussion history and reputation as being difficult , I don’t see them as even close. Haskins all day.

Sounds to me like you are just guessing. On both fronts.

Possible his medical is a flag although top 10 I doubt it. Possible he’s difficult and maybe that’s another reason zona would trade him or also possible that he wants to be challenged which a lot of people reported about him as a prospect.

Feet wise Rosen’s are better. Haskins doesn’t always bring his feet or have consistent foot quickness. But he does have a little more youth to bank on there from a development side.

I think it’s close but I’m confident head to head rosen carries the higher draft prospect grade all things being equal
