Dolphins Not Interested In Trading For Rosen

Send them a 4th or 5th and Tannehill for Rosen. Fins get a chance to see a kid with upside and the Cards get a two year mentor to Murray who can step in and win if he really needs to. Murray will have to learn how to play behind a crap line and who knows that better than Tannehill.

Honestly, I like the idea of Tannehill being a back up there. But, once more, his contract makes trading him unlikely to any team.

Yea I think they have Mike Glennon out there at a much cheaper number than Tannehill and that, like you said, will be the big Achilles heel in getting anything for him or including him in any trade, to any team.

The one that continues to make the smallest bit of sense is to Cincy with Zac Taylor as the HC now and Dalton having a very cuttable contract.

However Taylor has already endorsed Dalton as a great fit . . . .something none of the new heads have done for Tannehill.

But i think people are forgetting that teams really understand they are not getting the 2016 Tannehill . . . .the guy that is on that contract is not the same guy who earned that contract.

There is a lot of uncertainty around Ryan. Teams will kick the tires on him once he is released but I don’t believe for a second there will be this high end demand for him to be even a backup, let a lone a starter.

Miami is holding out hope due to a weak QB class, but ultimately expect the band aid to be ripped off before FA begins or shortly after it begins.

Josh Rosen QB, Arizona Cardinals

NBC Sports' Peter King was told the Cardinals might only get a third-round pick for Josh Rosen.
"Probably a three," a "renowned NFL GM" told King. "Not what the Cardinals would think his value is." The Cardinals are reportedly planning to select Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick, meaning they need to trade Rosen. Owed a total of $1.98 million in base salary over the next three seasons with minimal roster bonuses, Rosen's contract will be extremely team-friendly for whichever organization trades for him. Teams with aging starters, like the Patriots and Chargers, will likely take a long look if Rosen is actually available.

I was with you up until you mentioned almost no demand for him to be a back-up. I don't bye that for a second. Regardless of what you think about him there aren't that many teams with back-ups (Skillset wise and certainly experience wise) better than Tannehill.

For example:
Look at GB situation when A.Rogers went down.
Look at Redskins
49ers were kind of an exception
Jags?
Giants(I'm fully believe a healthy Tannhill could outperform Manning at this stage in his career)
Denver?
Arizona

I strongly disagree with your thoughts on this one. If he's healthy he's easily going to land at minimum a backup job.

Rosen would be much better w dolphins than Arizona..u might get away with second Rd pick.if nobody wants him, all 2018 qb need work except Bakerfield, dolphins have some nice play makers on team.

I'm not opposed to Rosen for say a 3rd round Draft pick. Really interesting to see what we do at QB. It's not obvious and we are playing our cards very close to our chest. It should be noted how there were always some leaks in the past but Brian Flores is a product of Bill Belichick and has been trained to keep his mouth shut ie keep the media at a distance and avoid feeding them. I got the impression that Mike Tannenbaum would brief Armando and Brian Jackson on selective stories that he wanted to get out.

Its whats been reported. See above.

I mean if you want to call one reporters column where he says 1 anonymous GM and Kurt Warner said they would give a third, during the biggest season of smokescreens there is . . . .then u can run with that, its all good.

I don’t believe that constitutes his trade value or the value Arizona can get for him in a trade.

Looking beyond Murray and Haskins, if you want a QB in 2019, your third best option is Josh Rosen and for 3 years/6 million with a 5th year option as well . . . .u are going to have to come out your pocket more than a third.

Either that or Zona ain’t gonna trade him.

We’ll see.

I don't know what Arizona has against keeping 2 young/contract healthy QBs on the roster but if they trade him, due to the position the rest of the NFL knows they'd be in and the atrocious season Rosen had, a 3rd is on the mark.

Question I keep asking is, when is Josh Rosen gonna run out of EXCUSES? Because that's all I know the guy for, anymore.

EXCUSES for poor performance in 2016. EXCUSES for having a 6-7 losing record in 2017, and not really looking like a supposedly top notch QB prospect.

Hey I made some of these excuses, too. I bought into them well enough to still consider him a 1st round pick.

But here we are, another year of underachievement, another year of EXCUSES.

At some point you recognize that your worst case scenario if you trade for Josh Rosen isn't that he sucks. It's that everything comes together well enough that he looks decent in 2019. And then he hits you with three more years of punching you in the dick and making more EXCUSES.
Sounds like a former - rather still current - QB we have all grown to know all to well.

I would give a 3rd and Tannehill to them for Rosen. Rosen will be cheap good QB for a couple years. Think like 5 mill. Pocket passer! Smart! Then rd1 and 2 we can get Dline and Olnine help. Win win!

I'm watching up to the minute on the Network and Charley Casserly is saying that he spoke to a team today and asked if Rosen was being shopped and the team said he was. He seems to agree with Peter King that a 3rd round pick is what they'll probably get. Honestly I would probably do that. I don't believe he got a fair shot in Arizona last season. Poor O-line, didn't have many weapons and the coaching there was bad.
