Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake wants to play in 2019, but is likely to test the free agent market when it opens next week, according to a league source.

Wake, 37, is two sacks shy of 100 for his career.

It seems more likely now that he would achieve that goal in a uniform that’s not aqua and orange.

The Dolphins are in rebuild mode. Perhaps this will give Wake an opportunity to play for a Super Bowl contender.

Sucks but I'd rather see him on a winning team in 2019 if not Miami. Agent may not want to budge on his final years $$$.....who knows.

For now I give 100% of the evaluation/decision on ALL levels over to Grier & Flores...

They get at least a 2 year window from me as long as I get the impression they are following

their primary directive -- as detailed in Grier's initial presser as GM.

That said. Have nothing but the highest regard/respect for Cam as a man and a freak athlete.

I only hope the best outcome for ALL parties with no residual "bad karma" in the mix.

I'm sure that will happen. One way or another.

BNF.

If this staff wants to win me over sign Cam to a contract and let him finish in Miami. This guy has been the model of team first player, he's taken less pay in the past to stay in Miami. Give him a 2 year deal and keep him in Miami.

Agreed, sign Cam to a deal. Having him around will help the rebuild. He's a good role model and leader for the younger players to learn off.

With that said I could understand if we move on and he goes and plays elsewhere. Not sure which team would fit him best, perhaps the Eagles, he could slot into a situational role especially if Bennett ends up leaving them. Just as long as he doesn't join the Patriots, that could be hard to stomach seeing.

I’m sure Cam Wake is touched that his biggest fans want him to end his career toiling in obscurity on awful teams instead of actually helping a team win a championship or even just get to the playoffs.

adios, hopefully he will be able to touch a running back next season.
