Dwayne Allen Analytics And Film Study (locked On Dolphins)

I pointed that play out not long after it happened. The only time coaches notice Charles Harris on film is when he’s being buried by a TE or jumping offsides.

Other than that, they wouldn’t even know he was getting a paycheck. Great interview though.

Poor awareness on the part of Harris, but in all fairness he wasn’t taking on Allen one on one.
He wasn’t beaten, he was blindsided by Allen because of his poor read. He went inside, when he should have have tried to seal the edge. It was a bad play by Harris, but it’s not exactly a highlight for Allen if you are arguing his proficiency as a blocker.

That tight end usage is pretty much a staple of the pats o on tape. Hell they do it with WRs even.

No reason harris shouldn’t be more ready for it.

My point never had anything to do with Allen.

When I first mentioned Harris getting buried on that play several months ago - Awsi Dooger responded by saying that he thought it was a WR that buried him the first time he saw it, but after I mentioned it he realized it was in fact Dwayne Allen.

Nothing to do with Allen or his blocking. Just how poor of a football player Charles Harris is. The only time he ever gets noticed is for things like this.

I still don’t know how in the hell some of you people draw the conclusions you do when reading these posts.

There were so many instances last year where the TE destroyed plays and blocking schemes. Many of us last year were frustrated that our coaches created schemes that their personnel could not execute. The most obvious failures were the TEs followed by the interior linemen. Allen can execute his blocking assignments and give the offense a chance. This seems like a reasonable cost to ensure the offense can maintain balance.

Gesicki Allen OLeary and Gray I would think.
I’m not sure about Smythe’s role given the Allen signing.
My question is are we really gonna carry 4 tight ends

Doubt it if we carry 5 WRs
Figure our in-line guys are Allen and OLeary. Gesicki will be spread out more.
Smythe and Gray will fight for that 4th spot.

I'm gonna be diving in deep to all these signings, and what better way to start than when I'm sitting on my couch with nothing to do.

I looked at Dwayne Allen's snap count workload (run vs pass), some of his technique in the running game (videos), and showed the whopping four pass targets he had in the passing game.

My moneys on smythe being the primary in line tight end this year.
