What matter is how much of year 2 is guaranteed.

Because I am pretty sure he will suck and get cut because he hasn’t shown anything else. So I’m hoping we can get out of the entire second year.
 
If rumors are true and this deal is INCENTIVE BASED - it can make a lot of sense for everyone.

I doubt it leads to anything more than a delayed departure for Parker but maybe I'll be wrong.

Parker had to realize, he wasn't going to get anything near what the last year, of his contract was paying him, on the open market. It was a smart business decision to stay with Miami, which happens to also be, a no state income tax situation. It's incentive based and keeps him in an environment he's known for 4 years. Anything is possible. He now has a chance to prove it or leave it.
 
Another regime, and the typical phrases follow. Even when you see them making a completely stupid thing.
 
Who’s actually still comfortable relying on Parker? Even if the contract was free I’d still wouldn’t bet on him playing all 16 games.
 
Good deal, thankfully Tbum is gone because he would have paid Parker lol
 
It's all part of the TANK without tanking strategy. Hey look we re-signed Parker who still can be elite, we're trying to win, yadda yadda yadda.
