Dolphins Bringing Back Devante Parker - 2 Year Contract

Is it possible that his lack of fire had a lot to do with the idiot in charge the last few years? I realize a true professional plays through it but he's riddled with talent that maybe the new regime believes they can harness.....

Parker gets another year to prove himself? Gee I wonder how that's going to go.

No issues with this. They reduced his salary and get the possibility of an extra year. Not saying the new staff can develop him but the last staff wasn’t very good for the most part. Being injury prone is still a concern though.

I'm not a fan of the tin man either but like my dreadful knicks we need to be collecting as many high end/risk lottery tickets as possible for when Tua/Hebert hopefully come so we aren't trying to put together a team draft by draft painstakingly into Tua's 30s and become the Miami colts.

We try to tell ourselves that about every bad player.

No doubt. I'm just not good at piling on the constant negativity so throwing a small ray of sunshine out. I realize it's an epic grasp at straws

Even if you're not pleased at the moment, just remember this one thing:

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to sign G Billy Turner to a 4 year/$28 million deal at the start of the new league year tomorrow!

Doesn't this news make you feel at least a little bit better now?:drop:

Obviously OL is on the NFL endangered species list so you better collect 'em while ya can!

Truth is -- zen guru OL coach is probably the most critical position coach on a winning team!

Do we have one???

If not we need one!

The regime change bought him another year Miami. If Tase was still here, he'd be a goner.

Yes...because Gase was such a great Guru of talent....the same Gase who brought in Cutler, Quinn, etc and jettisoned Ajayi, Landry, etc.

The Dolphins are finalizing a 2-year extension for DeVante Parker, which will prevent him from playing on the $9.4M 5th year option. But it isn’t finalized, and isn’t for the figure being reported I’m told by league sources. Deal is not done

Please don't link that piece of **** and disgrace for a journalist on this website. Thanks.

No issues with this???? Apart from the fact DeVante's been given chance after chance after chance to show us his alleged great natural talent and he has consistently failed.

While I have wanted Parker gone for years now, no one should get worked up about this. It's an insignificant signing. He will be making ~$5M for one season, nothing gntd in year 2. We have plenty of money to spend, so not worth getting excited or upset about. It's a who cares move.

2 yrs/13 mil puts Parker in the same pay range as Robert Woods, Mohammed Sanu, Taylor Gabriel, Marquis Goodwin and Corey Davis.

It looks like he is now the 36th highest paid WR in the league. So his new contract is paying him WR #2 money roughly, but he is the #3 highest paid WR on our team behind Stills 4 yr/32 mil and Wilson 3 yr/24 mil.

It's a great price for the ceiling we have seen with Parker.
It's a medium to high price for the realistic injuries/inconsistencies we have seen with Parker.
1 yr/5 mil cut and run price...I'm okay with that.

Former 1st round pick, new coaches that like him, flashes, I understand the desire to see what they can do with him but really wish we paid a little less to keep him.
