Teddy Bridgewater Discussion (resignining With The Saints)

Wow, if that's all we offered him then I don't think we really wanted him. 5 mill a year is nothing for a starting QB

It’s truly his market though. I don’t know who would give him more than that

Miami native Teddy Bridgewater is opting to stay in New Orleans.

Bridgewater, an unrestricted free-agent quarterback, is expected to re-sign with the Saints on Wednesday after declining a two-year, $10 million offer from the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, according to a league source.

Bridgewater, a former Miami Northwestern High standout, believes he can continue to improve under Saints coach Sean Payton and eventually succeed quarterback Drew Brees as the future Saints starter.

I'm fine with Bridgewater not coming. I'm still in the Fitzmagic for a year boat. If we're gonna lose, let's have some fun with it.

He'd rather sit and collect a check than compete and start elsewhere. Let him stay in NO, Brees ain't going anywhere anytime soon.

Maybe Miami told him he would compete for the starting gig with Tannehill, and he didn't think he could beat him out.

I said during the season that he is not going anywhere. While it may have been a 1-year deal with a 2-year option in NoLa it was reported that the Saints and Teddy will lock him up for good.

It must hurt the "tank" crowd that we would actually go after a guy like Bridgewater. I guess Grier saying "we are not tanking" is not good enough.

This is nuts unless he is the answer in their opinion. That does not spell a rebuild job.

He wisely decided to play back up on a team with a very good o-line as opposed to starting on a team with an o-line that has been a sieve in recent memory.

He'll get a start in NO before he holds the starting job down here with Tua/Lawrence looming.

Anyone who thinks the Saints aren't going to draft a QB to replace Brees is sorely mistaken. Bridgewater won't have a starting job in NO, any more than in MIA. Only shot he has is if Brees gets hurt. If he had the opportunity to start in MIA, he should have taken it. Played his butt off and hopefully find a better place after/if MIA sucks enough to get a top QB prospect in 2020.
