Rb Le-veon Bell Plans To Sign With Jets.

No desire for Bell. He obviously wasnt solely to blame for the fall out with the Steelers, but you dont want to ingest too heavily in RBs
 
I only wanted Bell cause of his pass catching ability. Nice to have that with a new young QB. 13 mil I think is just about right. I dont think he is actually overpaid. Cap went up alot in past few years.

I find your definition of "reasonable" at tad Tannenbaumesque.

I like the deal Baltimore is signing Mark Ingram to a lot better.

I think the Steelers demonstrated (once again) how fungible that position is with the year Connor had. Bell is a good player, if motivated (i.e. not 260 lbs) and healthy. But you have to appreciate that the difference between good and great running backs is not $8 million.
 
running backs develop quickly, get beat down quickly and can be found up and down the draft

the last thing a rebuilding team needs is an expensive, used running back
 
I don't think investing in Bell is best for the team at the moment.

Here's my prediction:

Gase starts talking about how he has packages and calls for Bell that people have never seen before. Halfway through the season the new york media doesn't understand why the Jets are paying $13 million a season for a rich man's Kenyan Drake.
 
In true Jets fashion, I'm estimating he tears his knee or achilles by week 4...

Well seeing as Bell can be motioned to the slot or is a mismatch nitemare on linebackers or safeties out of the backfield, I can't understand the complete nonsense some are spouting here.

Gase is a moron, but Bell is a proven commodity. One only rivaled by Kareem Hunt in the dynamic nature of their skillset.

No that would be true "Miami" fashion. Remind me how many games did Sitton play last year? How about that stud center Kilgore? Better yet, name the LONE FA acquisition in last years FA class that DID NOT go on IR.

No doubt it was a rough injury-riddled season to say it nicely...but we still aren't the Jets!!!
