Opinion: Tannehill Will Be Back

We are backed into a corner and the best bet because we are going to tank obviously it Bringing Tannehill back. Huge paycut. It is a win win for us. If he plays how he has in the past, then we will get a great pick anyway. there is no other qb options left. Bortles is about it.

Three observations. 1) Keeping Tannehill is a good indicator this will not be a tank season. 2) Keeping Tannehill shows Flores thinks more highly of him than most here. 3) If Tannehill takes a paycut to come back as a backup, I see that as a bad decision. Flores may want a high draft pick, but fans WANT TO WIN! I suspect all of us can see the controversy of Miami opening up 1-4 and fans calling for Tannehill.

No if he plays how he plays we will be drafting midpack. He is not going to be back.

Actually if he plays out the season, without getting injured all through the year, Miami is in the playoffs, or just misses out.

The problem is, I believe Ryan has taken a huge amount of punishment that eventually will catch up to you, no matter how quickly you get up after each hit.

Once we heard he was pissing blood, that clock started ticking, before he started getting hit, and no longer popping back up ready for more from our great O-line.

I just don’t see Flores/Grier having any want for Ryan Tannehill. I imagine Steve Ross is done with him as well.

The guy is about to be a $27 million dollar cap hit on your roster, the supposed franchise QB, and they have treated him as an afterthought since after the season.

Reports that they have been contacting teams to let them know he is available

That is not somebody you have pegged as on your team, let alone as your starting QB.

He’s gone . . . .how it happens is the only question.

If he was going to be cut, why wouldnt he be cut by now? seriously. why would we wait? makes zero sense. Obviously, they are talking him to a paycut. Anyone with common sense know he cant be traded. Who else plays qb for us? Luke falk? Brock? not a chance. we have the dead cap anyone with tanneill. There is no obivious upgrade. why would anyone like Bridgewater want to come in, lose a ton of games and get pounded and further deminish there earning power. Tanneill will be the qb next season.

Tannehill lost the lockerroom... If he comes back, it will be dysfunctional.

What benefit do they have to cut him now? There are no roster bonuses they will need to pay and they can wait until may 31st to see if a team becomes desperate and offers something.

LOL if there is one thing we know is that RT is not capable of leading anyone to the playoffs

As much as I flame Tannehill, he is perpetually good for 6-8 wins per season. That's 3-4 more wins than I would like at the end of this upcoming season.

Just for clarification, I didn't advocate keeping him. Just making observations if they DO keep him. Personally, I suspect he's gone unles he takes a significant pay cut, but, even that would just make him more tradable.

I think a paycut would be in conjunction with the team he is traded to. And its likely the only way he is traded.

I just can’t see any scenario he is back in a Fins uniform.

There is nothing that would alieniate the fans against Grier/Flores more than watching a 6 win Dolphin team lead by Ryan Tannehill.

They could draft air at 13 and that wouldn’t piss people off more than watching a Tannehill lead Fins team in 2019.

Tannehill is not coming back...at least not as "the guy" anymore. Only way he's back is a pay cut of some kind...but this whole organization is going through massive overhaul. I see no upside in keeping Ryan around any longer.

We're actually trying to be bad this time around.

The longer this drags out the more I think he is staying .

Again there is nothing being dragged out and they aren’t in the market for a big payday free agent so cap space is fine

Its one thing if he had a league year roster bonus due or a guarantee kicker, but he doesn’t.

Miami can do a deal on draft day if they choose.

Seriously there is no rush to do anything right now.

Dragged out is if training camp was tomorrow and we hadn’t done nothing.
