Teddy Bridgewater Discussion (resignining With The Saints)

That is not why we were stuck in the middle of the pack for so long. The reason is that in the past our FO and coaches were unable to make the right picks and FA pickups to move us up.
and who's been in our FO for all those years? That's right, Grier

If Miami misses on a top QB in 2020, 2021 is just a year away. Build up the rest of the team, in the meantime. I'm always in the mindset to win as many games as possible. If you have a qb you are in love with, do your best to trade up to get him. Just keep winning. The issue, in hindsight, with miami is that they were in love with Tannehill. It's not like Miami has been drafting QB's every year to push Tannehill. That was their mistake.

I agree that does that mean you'd rather go 7-9 every year instead of trying to hit a home run?

No, but it means I’ll never root for my team to lose, just so they have the POSSIBILITY of drafting a franchise QB, when there’s also the possibility a franchise QB can be found later in the draft (Mahomes, Rodgers, Wilson, Roethlisberger, and I won’t mention Brady because that’s too easy)

I think it’s a stupid move for both sides. But I have to say I’d probably be more inclined to watch if Teddy is the starter.

So you think he is good enough to win a superbowl? Bc the downside of being "above avg" is were still stuck in mediocrity and miss out on a top QB next year.

First of all -- which QB prospect in 2020 comes with a guaranteed SB championship certificate????

Let's be real. It takes a TEAM to win and do it consistently.

Check out Archie Manning's career. Early Jim Plunkett. Doug Williams. Etc. etc.

That said -- obviously the QB position in the NFL is really important -- but it's also the most over-hyped...

Everyone defaults to Brady as an example. And I do to -- in a VERY DIFFERENT reference.

He's NOT REMOTELY the type of player that's going to elevate a crappy team -- and he's COMPLETELY

dependent on his supporting cast -------- wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than singularly dominant players like Marino.

So yea, You can win with less than a "generational quality" QB. Problem around here is we've been used to bottom

spectrum QBing for so long we no longer have a viable reference as to what is top tier (say in the top 25% to be safe).

That said, I am NOT guaranteeing anything personally -- but if (???) Grier and Flores believe TB can provide the answer

I'm going to 100% support the decision -- because I can see a number of reasons why it could be a good answer...

It's hard to criticize this move, or to applaud it, cause I have absolutely no idea what the plan is with this FO.

I thought I knew, but if they do go ahead and sign Teddy, then I have to admit I'll be back to being totally confused.

Maybe the draft will clear things up.

remember something. This team can't draft the right O-line guy in the first round but you think they'll find the right QB in the later rounds?

Teddy is the only QB who isn't a full on tank job signing that makes sense. If you're going to risk winning a a few extra games, a young QB whose barley played is a good one to do it behind. At least there is potential for a steal.

Ryan Tannehill QB, Miami Dolphins

According to PFT's Mike Florio, a source told him there's "no way" the Saints attempt to acquire Ryan Tannehill should Teddy Bridgewater sign with the Dolphins.

I wonder why....lol

but if that's how the FO feels, then why did we let go of 3 vet players that can help him win? See the contradiction by the FO?

looking at Bridgewater's college highlights.
Damn Parker was a beast
