Teddy Bridgewater Discussion (resignining With The Saints)

Bridgewater doesn't have the arm talent that Tannehill does, in fact I doubt it's even close.

Tannehill is a far more talented QB than Bridgewater, talent isn't everything but it matters a lot.

Tom Brady doesn't have the arm talent of prime Tannehill.

Not sure what the point is?

Lol. Tannehill is really a great loser. I love how he belittled the practice squad players and has ludicrous speed 3 and outs.

I'd like to see Teddy get a shot over anyone available this year not named Murray. This team is going to suck regardless....no harm in giving Teddy a trial year to see if he meshes with the coaching staff. Hes shown he can be a pretty good QB in the right situation and it doesn't hurt that Payton saw something there as well.

Of course if they're talking 15 mil I'd pass.

he may be a slight upgrade but I really would like a QB that averages more than 1 TD per game and if he isn't the long-term answer, we might as well start Falk
That's actually what I want. I'm just saying though, I can see why people would make a case that he's better than Tannehill, and above average - not that I necessarily agree.

Bridgewater's arm is a liability, Tom Brady's never was.

I remember Teddy falling in the draft because of how s***** his arm looked at his pro day, I'd say his NFL career has proven his arm to be a liability as well.

I'd prefer a strong armed QB, unless of course they went to Duke which is the only logical exception (must be very smart).

Dude Daniel Jones sucks I'm sorry. If we go that way I'm done

I hear ya and I'd root for teddy too if we went that way. But I'll go on record saying i don't think its a good idea. I'd rather draft a guy like Lock. Bridgewater is coming off an injury and didn't really look good when he started last year. I'd rather go with a rookie

To be fair...he was playing with mostly backups. We signed two tackles that week to play so we could rest our banged up OL. Michael Thomas played until he broke a record then got out. Ingram got some play because he had a shot at the saints all time rushing record but was taken out when it was clear he wasn't going to get it behind that OL.

There are tons of strong arm QBs who never amount to anything...accuracy is far more important.

With that said, I don't know Teddy is going to be worth the grab.

Daniel Jones...I know you really like him, and I personally don't understand it. He's a worse version of Tannehill, a weaker arm and poor decision maker on the field. I don't think the Duke education has anything to do with his ability as a QB...Fitzpatrick went to Harvard and makes awful decisions on the field.

At least when Jones washes out fo the NFL in three years he will have that Duke degree to fall back on.

I like Jones too, but you gotta be sure he is drafted for franchise QB. If not, wait until 2021. Not a fan of Tua at all, Lawrence looks like one of the few franchise QBs within the next few years.

Yes but arm talent will always matter in the NFL.

Honestly I have no idea about Daniel Jones, I watch Duke BBall not football lol, but will root for him like I did for Jamison Crowder in WSH for obvious reasons.

Come back Zion!!! Chekwu and Dolezaj are going to be a problem tonight...

Why all this discussion regarding getting Teddy or not getting him? What we do know is there's a big void at the QB position and we need somebody to fill it. Whether you like him or not, he's more than capable of being a starting NFL QB because he's done it before. After evaluating the market and the draft I think we're better off signing a QB who's started before because we'll most likely be seeing them for at least the next season and half of next season while a rookie sits and learns. If I'm a head coach I want my rookie learning behind a QB that can somewhat perform to our expectations. It's an important position so you have to expect to invest some money there on a yearly basis whatever your plan is.

with all due respect to his estimated competitive spirit, it doesn't seem to translate to his actual production

He produces wins, which is what I care about. Clutch too.

But I will say this. The QB position is more dependent on the situation they're in than all the others combined. He'd be coming to a bad situation ... so there's that. It's an uphill battle for whichever QB is taking snaps under center for the fins.

Hard to believe Teddy Bridgewater can generate a 23 page thread. Then again, this board has always had the strangest takes on quarterbacks of any I've been a part of.

Bridgewater is completely irrelevant as an NFL player. He was almost an average starting quarterback - almost. Then he suffered a devastating injury. It's literally a miracle he still has his leg. He's done.

I actually commented that you didn't want this guy when everybody was hyping him up last year, and pointed out that you'd rather pursue Nick Foles if going the FA route.

This was before Foles led the playoff run and before Bridgewater went out there and had that abortion of a game for the Saints in his only start.
TedSlimmJr is on fire and I love it.
Enough of this mediocrity.
Don’t settle. Demand better.
