My god. No matter how many times you state this, you're wrong. Basically, everyone accepts this was a good deal for us. Even those who are big tannehill fans. Well respected journalists.Yes, we got something in return, it's called negative value. We lost.
Gave up sixth for seventh, net loss.
Paid 5 mil for a 4th rounder next year (they make 2.5 mil over course of contract if they work out) - net loss.
And we took on 10.5 mil more cap hit this year to gain 5.5 next year, (you know teams can carry cap unspent right?) -- net loss.
Brilliant.
True, but I don't confuse the two! Besides, I know enough to realize that football is not a one man game.
I saw the development of the Bengals in the 1980's when they had a QB named Ken Anderson. The team had been doing poorly and a new Head Coach was brought in. There were complaints about Anderson that paralleled the complaints here about RT. The media asked the new HC what he was going to do about the QB problem. The new HC said nobody could throw lying on his back. That year they brought in an offensive right guard named Montoya and left tackle named Munoz. The next year they were in the Superbowl. That Head Coach was Forest Gregg, the last NFL player who played the whole game on both sides of the ball.
Clearly, the previous poor systems were not the fault of the QB.
There is value in history. You might even like it if you tried it!
Even with the disappointment, Tannehill goes down as a top 3 QB in franchise history, unless you want to count the one Pennington season.
Are they really that down in Mariota? They really think Tannehill will be a starter there?
Wake must be pissed.
Anyone out there have a Tanne highlights vid to give him a proper send off?
The stuff on YouTube sucks. One is mixed with Ajayi highlights. Another show defensive highlights.
Amen Al.....amen.....so no more complaining--awesome.
So now you want to take pot shots.
And in his wake 2HCs, 3GMs and a hand full of OCs all lost their jobs. So while history in Cincinnati taught you something, it does not change the fact that multiple offenses and philosophies were installed for this particular player. And according to you and many others, Tannehill doesn't own any of it, well because he doesn't play defense or something.
I ask, what is the most important position in football?
I have stated multiple times since before he was drafted we need oline and a seam threat TE. Been saying it since I've been on this board. And I haven't wavered, be it for Henne, Tannehill or whatever follows. Meaning I fully understand the nature of the game and what you need to succeed. The Clots like Davie, thought corn fed dumpster diving was the rage....then their franchise QB after multiple PO appearances was taken out via injury. So what did the Clots figure out? Drafting more WRs and TEs should not have been their primary concern....getting a line was.
Enter Nelson, who I would have loved in Miami along with others I liked in the past from Zach Martin to Cody Whitehair.
