Blaine Gabbert QB, Unsigned Free Agent

Titans released QB Blaine Gabbert.
Gabbert finds himself the odd man out in Tennessee following the Titans' surprising trade for Ryan Tannehill. The former first-round pick made a handful of spot starts in place of an injured Marcus Mariota last year but wasn't effective, struggling to a mediocre 74.9 quarterback over eight appearances. Though clearly not starter material, the 29-year-old remains a serviceable backup. He'll land on his feet.

This guy could help us stick to the plan. He’s horrific

I was critical for most of his tenure.

But he used his brain here. What a great fit for him in Tennessee.

Man I don’t think there is a better fit in the leauge for him to be honest.

Really good OLine and running game, similar style QB as the starter and a guy who always seems to get nicked every year.

I hope he finds success there, he is a good enough dude to deserve it.

It is probably an even better fit than us. It is also his best chance to unseat the starter. If Ryan doesn't have success with the Titans he will nowhere.

I’m sure he’s gonna like that titans commitment to the run game.

Of course that means play action which Miami couldn’t block for in max protect in 18 if their lives depended on it.

Can Tennessee? Helps that he won’t have that cross to bear gesicki

He gets a about as close to a #1 wr but not quite there going into year 3 in Corey Davis too.

Kids on tbe come

And seven seasons of futility finally ends. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry.

Absolutely positively painful for so many of us to know this was wrong and was going nowhere by 2014 and here we are five years later bent over a fence.

Thank god it’s over. Finally.

We need a quarterback, just like we did when he was here. Time to move on, best to let the new coach and system hand pick one.

If we stay on our comp pick strategy, we could be on track for two thirds (Extra from James), two fourths (Tannehill), two fifths (Wake), and two sevenths (Gore) in 2020. That’s before any trade downs in the 2019 draft.
Trades don't factor into the compensatory pick formula.
