A Compensatory Draft Pick For James...

I guess I just don't understand how it all works.
if you lose 3 players to free agency but you gained 3 players then is a wash pretty much. The comp picks are supposed to make you whole. So far I can see us getting two picks. We lost Gore but got Rowe for more money so he will cancel that one. If we get nobody else then we're probably looking at a 3rd and a 5th

Guestimated 2020 draft picks for Miami...

1-4
2-35
3-66
3-98 (James)
4-106
4-123 (Tannehill)
5-141
5-172 (Wake)
6-177
7-235 (Tannehill)
7-245 (Jordan Lucas)

AND $120,000,000 in cap space.

Might get a pick for Bolden too

It is more by how much did the guy u lost sign for and how little u signed your guy for. Small 1 year prove it deals don't count but can help u the following year if that dude balls out and gets PAID multiple yr contract by another team the following year. Love what we r doing so far.

As it stands now, 3rd for James, 5th for Wake, and 7th for gore (last one is possible)

No chance we get anything for Gore, he got paid less than all 3 of the FAs we signed. I don't know exactly how it works but I'm pretty confident our only chances are James and Wake. James should get us at least a 4th hopefully a 3rd. Wake I'm guessing 5th.

Operate as if no picks will be awarded.

That pick #235 that you have us for Tannehill is NOT in 2020.....that's this year. We got 235 this year from the Titans and gave them #190 in this year's draft.
in 2020 we get their 4th as you have it up there.

Again, if Juwan James gets injured in preseason and is out for the year . . . .it significantly hinders the ability to get a premium compensatory pick, or any pick at all.

Bagging these potential picks early is real amateur from the local media . . .I do expect it on here because this is a forum and we discuss this type of stuff.

But yea, operate like you have nothing because that is the case right now.

why are you putting so much value on compensation picks? because if theres a player that has that much value just pick him in the 1st 7 rounds unless the team done squandered their picks

comp picks are pretty much extra picks that not every team gets. The more picks you have the bigger chance to hit on players.

The Patriots do so well in this because:
a. They let their FA's walk. They know they can replace them cheap
b. They usually sign cuts and not other team's FA's, which do not count towards this

Gore signing was canceled out by Rowe regardless. We’ll see what fitzpatrick cancels out

I have a feeling at the end of the day were gonna only get a 4th from James and nothing more.

Is on Roger "Kraft" Goodell hands the pick dolphins are going to get for James.
