What 2nd And 3rd Tier Fas Still Out There

Who cares don’t sign any of those bums. Use our remaining cap to give Howard what he wants and extend Tunsil. Can probably get Tunsil for cheap throw him a 6 year/60 million deal and lock him up. We get him below value but he’d be dumb not to take it since it’s a guaranteed future and he’d get a nice paycheck this year instead of playing for peanuts then getting stuck on a 5th year option and risking getting injured. Next year even with these two moves we’ll have over 75 million and that’s when you sign free agents that you can build around.

LOL you think Tunsil is signing for 10M per season? I’ll have whatever you’re smoking.

So James, a average(not great, not awful) RT signed with Denver for 4yrs/52mil and you expect Tunsil, A LT to sign a 6/60???

There’s GOTTA be some decent journeymen O-Line available.
The problem is that every single team out there says that every year, and every team is looking for them, and they are always a much higher injury risk, but because of the insanely high demand, the price gets bid up every year.

IMHO, we're better off doing what the Patriots do, get lots of draft picks (in all rounds) and churn through them until you find guys that work. It's less expensive than FA's, and yields a significantly smaller likelihood of injuries derailing your OL during the year. A good rule of thumb is that when you trade down, its usually a decent decision to make that "extra" draft pick you get be an OL. You need to draft a lot of them and churn through them. Don't get bogged down waiting on guys with "potential" like John Jerry, Dallas Thomas, etc. Just keep the drafted OL coming through, and take the ones that can do the job now.

If the rumor in Davie is true that we will be using more of a power scheme for our OL then Chance Warmack, and Quinton Spain would be 2 players i would consider. They're both still relatively young and would not command a truck load of money.

How close is he to being a FA? Wouldn't 10 million be alot more than he is making those years on his rookie contract? You basically buy out the remaining years on that contract.

I'm really starting to get, well, queasy, with these ideas of 'select no other FAs.' I get the 'tank' argument, but a quality FA at a below average price isn't something I's pass with the hopes of MAYBE getting something better.

.Justin Houston--Just for the sake of a pass rush would be a good stop gap.
Ronald Darby --line up opposite X probably wouldn't break the bank.
C.J. Anderson--pair with Drake.
Brent Urban--Decent depth for 3-4 DE
Christian Covington--More decent depth on the DL
Kyle Emanuel-Decent 2 down LB

Houston signed with PIT I believe.

Tunsil is going to get a contract similar to what OV and Landon Collins got in F/A. 5-6 years and $85m-$90m? That's my guess. I believe Howard is going to get a similar deal perhaps approaching $95m? As for 2nd tier young, power scheme type players, Spain I'd think would be a guy that could interest Miami.

Spain makes sense to me

Brent urban for the dline rotation. Multiple fronts

Josh Kline was cut by the titans. Solid guard and wouldn't count against comp picks. Win win.
