Give Me Fitzmagic For 2019

It’s not even close to worst idea someone on FH has come up with.

I can’t dispute the fact that he could really make losing as fun and entertaining as possible.

See me once RT isn’t on our roster and I’d likely be ok with it.
Now I know why we added Matt Moore to the QB scout team at the combine … we're obviously looking for high risk/high reward gunslinger types.

I love how so many backup QBs are good enough to get us to 8-8.

I can’t wait to go 16-0 with an elite QB.

Good point. An average or less QB consistently gets 7-8 wins. AND that's with Philbin and Gase and their genius OCs/DCs. Yet some refuse to believe there is talent on the team. Not saying Miami has top 4 team talent, but a real HC/OC/DC and a couple of good OLmen could, arguably have fielded a 9 win team.

Well how about that! Fitzpatrick to the Fins! You don't say!

I asked, the Fins delivered. Thank you Grier. This season just got a whole lot more interesting.

Will it achieve our goals? 50-75-1 career record --> YES
Will it be fun? 30,000 yds/190 TDs --> YES
Will it be frustrating? 148 INTs --> YES, but remember item 1 above

In all honesty, I do like Fitzpatrick quite a bit. He's a fun leader, has been around for a long time, can throw up some points and he'd be a transition guy. I could see him sliding into backup role once we draft our guy in 2020 and aid the QB room. Plus the locker room conversation between him and Minkah trying to trademark their "last name" would be entertaining.

If the price was reasonable, I'd consider it. I've been a THill supporter over the years, but please FO, it's time. Fitz would be a firey change of pace I'd enjoy watching on Sundays.

Great beard too!

Here’s hoping that moron can lose 15 games...or its 7-9 for the next two decades..AGAIN!!

My fear exactly. This offseason may be the determinant of our next decade of football. I can't survive another full decade of mediocrity, flirting with the playoffs but never having a meaningful chance to win a Super Bowl. Let's finally invest in an elite QB … not another streaky guy. Hey, I like Fitzmagic … but he's too good to tank and not good enough to ever really contend.

I'll just put out there but the idea of FItz all of the sudden being the QB to take this roster with one offensive lineman a d-line that couldn't get to the QB if the only thing in its way was some wet tissues is going to get this team 8 wins is preposterous. You may get lucky and have him have one of his 450 yard games and 4 tds, but those a rare. 3 wins maybe.

I hope you're right … I sincerely do.

But we know that we will be drafting a different type of defensive player, and I'm actually expecting our defense to be better next year, because I really like the Patriots' defensive scheme. On offense I like Tunsil and our WR corps and Drake. Unlike most, I'm expecting Mike Gesicki to make a typical second year jump and be a good TE this year, and I like the addition of Dwayne Allen to block. So the things holding this offense back are the scheme change, QB, and other 4 OL.

Sure, that's a lot, but if there's one QB who can pick up systems quickly its Fitzmagic, he's shown that at a bunch of places … he learns systems quickly. And he's shown that he is erratic and has streaks of very good productivity. The problem is that those streaks will likely guarantee we win more than 4 games. As for the OL, we'll return Kilgore at C and Davis will shift back to RT, meaning we need 2 starting guards, and I'm expecting us to draft 2 OL. It's not a great OL, for sure, but it has a very good LT, and teams have succeeded with subpar OL's before. If our defense improves--and I'm definitely speculating, but I think it will--then I believe Fitzpatrick's ability to throw the deep ball and our fast WR's (Jakeem Grant, Albert Wilson, Kenny Stills, and DeVante Parker and TE Mike Gesicki) will spring a few upsets.

We need to wait and see how it all plays out, but at this point, before the draft, I definitely see Fitzmagic as a way better QB than say …. Curtis Painter was for the Indianapolis Colts when they won the Suck for Luck sweepstakes.
