Ryan Fitzpatrick To Miami

The guy has a career 81 passer rating. Had 4 seasons where he threw more interceptions than TDs. In the great season he had last year, he was benched twice for a crab stealing pervert. He's gonna be 37 haha The tank is still in full effect unless we get 8 starters on the oline and dline from this upcoming draft. We just have to believe. Don't lose hope.

I have to say we might have been better tanking with tannehill. Fitz can make things happen when things are not going well. He will throw int but he can make good stuff happen when the play goes to crap.

Tannehill usually can’t. Most plays will go to crap this year. Tannehill would have struggled. Fitz will move around and escape or run. This might back fire.
We won’t win 10 games. But they could win more then they should. Who knows. This team is a nightmare .

Can the fans here just stop with the could have kept Tannehill stupidity. Every Dolphins beat writer has said the players had issues with him and you cant have a locker room that has no respect for a player. His time was up before last year and they should have moved on and gotten a better pick this year.

I'm one of those tanking crowd … and you're right, I'm not happy about the move, and I agree that Fitzpatrick is Matt Moore on steroids. Well put.

Your prediction that this will be an exciting roller coaster with FitzMagic at the helm seems spot on to me. But I also know that Fitzmagic doesn't tend to start every game. For whatever reason the coaches always seem to go with the young guy when Fitzmagic starts running cold. The other shoe that worries me as a tanker, is that this move looks like we may reach for one of the bad QB's everybody is hyping up.

This QB draft reminds me a LOT of the one where everyone hyped up Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert and Christian Ponder. Yeah, they all went in the 1st round too, not just Cam Newton who went #1 overall. So when I see Haskins, Lock, Jones and any QB not named Kyler Murray, I just keep thinking about that 2011 draft … and all those over-hyped products. Newton was legit … but the second best QB out of that draft was a 2nd rounder named Andy Dalton … and that's just not good enough for my tastes.

I'm hoping we successfully tank in 2019, despite the accurate description you have of Fitzmagic. And I'm hoping we don't draft a QB in 2019, which also seems unlikely. And I'm hoping, beyond hope, that we actually land one of those 3 actually elite QB prospects in 2020 … and avoid yet another decade of mediocrity.
McShay says Rosen would be the top QB in this draft. I dunno if that's true but outside of Murray, I'd prefer trading for him over all the others and letting him sit like he should have in AZ

You didn’t get the gist of my post apparently. There was no reason to make that trade involving Tannehill in the first place. The Dolphins were forced to overpay for a washed up retread only because they shuttled the incumbent out of town in the first place. Also don’t act as if you are a Dolphins expert as we all give our own opinions on this site. If you don’t agree, be civil, complementary or move on

They weren’t forced to do anything. Tannehill was traded bc they didn’t want him. No one forced them to pull that deal off.

Miami never could tank with Tannehill but he always was able to get to 6-7 wins typically. That isn’t good enough this year.

I went to the jets KC game a few years back and watched fitz throw 6 picks in person. It was a thing of beauty and he has the ability to completely fall of the rails. He can lead us to one overall

I was never as high on Rosen as most, but that is a reasonable statement because this is a down draft year for QB's. Sure, every year there are guys who had lots of success in college. And every year the media hypes up the QB's because that's such a high profile position that it generates clicks and podcasts and ad revenue. Fans get psyched because they see successful faces they know. But to me, this class lacks QB talent at the top. I'm a believer that Kyler Murray will be successful in the NFL if he is put in the right system, like the one Kliff Kingsbury is going to run in Arizona. But the system we're going to run, the Patriots system, is a poor fit for him.

Everyone else has major flaws, so Rosen--who also has major risks--might be the top overall prospect setting aside Kyler Murray.

The 2020 draft looks to have 3 guys who might fit us well and have the chance to become elite prospects though, so I'm hoping we look for our QB there, and that we have a high enough draft position to actually draft one without mortgaging the future to trade up and get him. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I share your distrust of the 2019 QB prospects.

And again if they weren't trying to rebuild I'd have zero problem with this signing...if we were a piece or two away ok bring in a vet that can hold down the fort for a season...but we're not even remotely close to being competitive and the plan was rebuild through the draft...now we sign a guy that WILL win 8 games next year...sorry but I'm sick of 8-8...give me 5 straight 0-16s over being stuck in the middle of the pack

What's Ryan Leaf doing? Seriously let Wake start at QB...ugh Fitz is going to over perform...another 13-16 pick coming...damn Pelicans know how to tank

And some people here are gift wrapping that **** and saying "it's exciting". No that's called me turning the TV off and vacuuming my house after the third pick.

What will be exciting is having a young QB on this team with the last name Murray or Tagadeeznutz.

You are WAY overating this roster and fiitzpatrick lol.

Who is playing Right Tackle? Who is playing Guard? Right now this team carries one servicable DE on the roster in Quinn (sorry, charles, I’m off the hope train). Are jakeem and Wilson going to be the same players they were before injury?

Did you not see what happened to RF down the stretch in Tampa last year?

You need a veteran to play with your young offensive pieces, you can’t have everyone learning on the job; just don’t mistake that for wins. The tank is on.

Awwww. Butthurt because your wish for tanking is gone poof?

i wish I was nieve enough to believe a 36 year old journeyman was enough to salvage this coming season.

I mean the team he just came from had a whole 5 wins Last year and he's coming to a clearly far more superior team. So I can definitely see the win total dropping from 5.
