No Qb Then We Should Focus Ol

You NEVER pass up top end Dline talent for interior Olinemen. We have a left tackle. We can find C/G starters on Day 2 and 3. This draft has an usual amount of DTs and Edge guys that you can't ignore.

To me, you start this rebuild around 3 pieces....Dline, Oline, QB. Everything else can be found and/or bought later. Plus you already have a really good CB, a rising S, young LBs and young RBs/TEs. You don't need more....you need big boys.

I'm looking BPA in Round 1 bc in a rebuild you want the absolute best talent since your roster is void of it and has many holes. That said, i put extra value in a Dlineman and will target them unless an absolute gem falls to us (similar to Tunsil). Round 2 again i'll look BPA but look at any OL/DL/Edge guys that fall.

IF we don't get a QB with 13, I'm good with a starting RG and a DT in the 2nd.

Sounds like Flores sees something in Asiata that Gase didn't. This would be the year to see if he can be developed enough to man the LG spot.

Next year we can sign a LG/RT after we clear some more contracts (Kiko, Quinn).

Any oline we had that was worth their salt wasn't picked up on day 2/3. A deep DLine draft tells me there will be quality there in day 2/3.

Never implied a oline in round 1. The oline should be emphasized by whatever means possible. Hopefully a great oline coach.

Just because we have sucked identifying talent doesn't mean it's not there.

Saints Oline was one of the best out there this year.....and yes, they had 2-1st rounders in Peat and Ramczyk but also Armstead (3rd rounder), Warford (3rd) and Unger (2nd).

Rams high powered offense? Whitworth (2nd round), Saffold (2nd), Haventein (2nd), Sullivan (6th), Blythe (7th)

Patriots? Trent Brown (7th round), Thuney (3rd), Mason (4th), Cannon (5th)

Chiefs? Fisher was top pick but then Morse Schwartz and Jeff Allen were all 2nd rounders.

On the flipside the Titans have bookend Top15 tackles and a highly drafted QB and their offense is ass.

All i'm saying is Dlinemen are so very valuable in today's pass heavy game. Having studs up front and not having to blitz allows you to do so much behind in coverage. I couldn't pass them up. I want an elite tackle for my QB but i can find other linemen Day 2 (2nd and 3rd round) to be good starters.

If the Dlinemen you really like are gone and the BPA by far is an OL (maybe like a Jonah Williams), then take him. I would much rather have an elite OL than a Charles Harris.

That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it.

As of now we have 1 proven lineman (Tunsil). If it comes to pass that we pass on a QB at 13 and Cody Ford and Wilkins is there...I'm taking Ford and start him at RG and hope Davis can hold his water at RT. Afterwards...Lawrence, Omenihu, Winovich can be our guy in the 2nd.

We need 2 DE's and depth at DT. The OLine is

I want to trade back and get more pick ammunition for a qb next year. Getting the QB is all that matters.

I would say trade back and go DE. Because this draft screams for that.

I would focus on a C, RT, pass rushers and a # 1 WR

guess being quite untalented lets us go full BPA in the draft

Don't worry, this year is actually deep in OL prospects. They may not be at the very top of the draft, but there's good prospects in every round this year, so as long as we draft a couple and make decent choices, we should be able to find some OL help.

Lmao absolutely not. You get the Qb in house before anything. You can shop for the best guard and best right tackle in free agency in 2020 when u have 120 MM in cap.

Respectfully disagree. You throw your franchise QB to the wolves, completely waste year one of their rookie contract, and instill bad habits. Worst case you get them injured and lose more time on that rookie contract. Then you're stuck negotiating an extension with limited tape and make hasty decisions like they did about Tannehill.

It makes better sense to me to get your trenches done this year. It usually takes them a year or two to really gel so why not start that process early. Get a vet like Fitz who knows how to play in a messy pocket and will have a year in the system to help the new guy catch learn it a year later.

It's easier then to churn the OL roster with a competent QB on a cheap contract than it is trying to fix both as we've seen the Fins do the last 8 years .

I agree with this. The reason Marino was so good his rookie year was because we had a very good team around him and the O-line had Ed Newman,Stephenson and kuechenburg, not to mention Nathan at RB who was very good catching passes.
You put a rookie QB out there with no O-line in front of him and you will get him killed and shatter his confidence.
The value in this draft is at D-line and O-line so that's what we should do this year.

We all saw how a bad Offensive Line can affect QB play, over the past seven seasons. Every QB, who played behind the O-Line during Philbins and Gase time here, literally were destroyed. The oline play was abysmal!!! But so was the 5 WR set, that neither coach would adjust to protect the QB. With that being said, I'm not sure any QB drafted over the next 2 seasons will be any better, unless Miami finally fixes the men in front and responsible for protecting him. After Murrey the QB's expected to be selected all come with questions. Put the OLine together 1st before grabbing your franchise QB. 2020's crop of QB are more well rounded as opposed to those after Murrey, in 2019.

I know less than most here, but I see RP as hinting at a '19 QB.

You don't have to throw him to the Wolves, just get the guy in house. NOW.

This o-line prospects in this draft are poor. It's not the strength of this draft. It's not going to be addressed this year regardless. The generic strategy of "Build the trenches" sounds great in theory. You have to have good options to do that.

One Olineman this year...early.

One next year...early, plus a FA pickup.
