Dolphins Willing To Eat Salary In Robert Quinn Trade - Visiting Cowboys

I like this, Dolphins should explore trading their cap space for draft picks like the Browns did by getting a 2nd for taking on Brock Osweiler.

Robert Quinn DL, Miami Dolphins

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Cowboys are in trade talks with the Dolphins about DE Robert Quinn.
Quinn is visiting the Cowboys on Tuesday, suggesting a deal is extremely close. The Cowboys have been quiet in free agency as they prepare for the big-money deals they will soon have to give guys like Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott, but Quinn works financially both because he is in the final year of his deal and the Dolphins are reportedly willing to pay some of his salary. Quinn is certainly in the decline phase of his career, but the Cowboys are desperate for pass rushing help behind Demarcus Lawrence.
Good news. I'm guessing we get at least a 4th rounder, as the Saints have now entered into the picture.

Can you remember the last time we've been on the this side of a bidding war? I can't.

I had doubts about Grier, and I still do to some extent, but I've been pleasantly surprised so far with his work this off-season.

I am liking what I am seeing this offseason. They havent made a move yet that had me shaking my head. At first I didnt really like the fitzpatrick signing, but they had to window dress a little. They couldnt roll with falk and murdock at QB. The league would probably have taken away our first overall pick haha.

We at least have a plan in place. Will be fun to see over the next few years how it plays out.

Grier has been given too much credit too early. The cap was fixed by Gase and his moves on Suh, Pouncey, etc. We had over $100M in cap for 2020 before Grier took over.

NOT taking a shot at Grier. I do like him and think he will do well but, want to give him a chance to prove his value as the Lone Ranger.

Also the drafts for the last 3 years have been far from perfect but, very good. giving us a young core of talent.

Sounds like Dallas wants him a lot.

Great news the Saints are interested too

I’m happy with a 4th

Both those teams traded away their 2019 firsts so I'd expect 2020 picks are on the table which should be fine by us.

I'd like a 2020 3rd and we can send back a late pick this year or next, although our 6th went to Tennessee so that would make it tough.

Agreed, I'm still not totally sold. But it's really been more the abscense of moves and the cuts/trades that have impressed me. No one thought we'd get anything for Tannehill much less a 4th next year. Most people pegged Quinn as a cut too and now it looks like we'll get something back there.

"We live in a world that has picks and those picks have to be handled by men with balls. Who's gonna do it? You?You, Mike Tanenbaum? Grier has a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for the traded and you curse the front office. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what Grier knows. That these trades, while tragic, probably saves futures. And Grier's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to many, saves futures. You don't want to pay for picks because deep down in places you don't talk about at BBQs, you want Grier to get those picks, you need Grier to get those picks. We use words like Murray, Tua, Lawrence. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending a future. We need, those words to not be a punchline. Grier has neither the time nor the inclination to explain himself to any poster who rises and sleeps under the benefit of the very trades that he provides, and then questions the manner in which he provides it. He'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way, otherwise, I suggest you pick up a device and reply with nice post. Either way, I give a damn that we are entitled to more picks."

Friggin awesome:good:

We have been really small at DE for a number of years. I get the feeling Flores is going to look for bigger players. Quinn just doesn't fit the mold, and I don't think he would be good as a rush linebacker.
