Opinion: Giants Will Trade For Rosen - How Would The Dolphins Respond?

The Dolphins should not be taking a QB in the first round (either at 13 or trading up) unless they are positive the guy is going to be a star. If you are tearing things down, the absolute worst thing you can do is wed yourself to a QB you're not absolutely convinced is the guy. It's even worse when the person you really want next year is within your grasp.

This! They should stick to whatever their plan is and not take a chance on anyone they don't fully believe in. It's OK if to them there are 0 QB's available. This move will define the regime, mess it up and they'll be more names in a long list of Miami failures. Just because we like somebody, doesn't mean they do.

I think I read somewhere Fitzpatrick came here because he will start. It doesn't sound like a QB in 2019 is the plan.

Considering how savvy the Giants have been with QB's lately, they know when to draft (round) and when to cut him. See their list of QB taken and then cut.
I'd be more than little leery of taking Haskins if the Giants pass on him.

That one year of true starting experience on a loaded team must be evaluated carefully.
Imo the very biggest mistake you can make in the draft is to worry about what other teams think.

Metcalf will not be affected I don't think but I don't know that he was top 12 anyways
Jacobs was never going in front of us, he is a part time starter with not a lot of production
Sweatt will slip now, I agree with you there

There was Jacobs top 10 talk even prior to his pro day. I never agreed with it but thats over. Guess I know now why he didnt run at the combine.

I don’t agree with you on metcalf. Need to run a lot of speed cut ask route concepts with the player. Which will limit the route tree imo

We should trade for Rosen.

All I know is during last years draft I thought we were gonna get him , then Arizona traded up in front of us . If we were willing to use the #11 pick on him last year we should be willing to use the #13 to trade for him now. Hopefully we can get Arizona to throw in a 3 or something
Rosen played awful. I understand he is a rookie but the Cards are willing to drop him for Murray means he ain't what they expected. No way in hell I'll drop #13 for Rosen. He looks like a potential bust. But I'll do a player and a 4th. Thats about it

Use the 13 pick for him?....lol
Arizona will have a hard time getting a 2nd round pick for him and might even have to settle for a 3rd. No way do we trade our first round pick for him.

Not only would i NOT trade up, I would NOT draft any of the top 3 QBs at 13 this year. From every scout I've read or heard, at least 2 of the 2020 QB's are ranked higher than Haskins and Lock by a decent amount. If that is true, we should wait until 2020 when we should have a very good chance at being in position to get 1 of those 2 guys.

Rosen to the giants actually makes a lot of sense. Then they could grab a stud wideout or TE at 6, or hell even trade back with that pick and go nuts. I really want Haskins though so I’m a little biased about the giants, they have been clearly the favorite to grab him until a week or so ago.

Makes sense on paper but clearly does not mesh with the Mara/Tisch mindsets.....neither did Beckham - they tolerated him for a while because of his ability but he clearly is/was not what they see as "Giants - type" players. Gettleman (GM) is getting the blame but there is no way Beckham was gone and they ate all that money without ownership input & approval.

Them taking Rosen would be a huge shock....his mentality, mouthiness and ego does not fit the "Giants type" player mold and I doubt it happens...they just got rid of one player causing those headaches, why take on another?

the only problem I have w qb is you don't know which one will end up being elite. passing up qb. that you don't think is going be good can still hurt you too. picking qb these day is luck.

I'm certain teams were 'certain' or 'absolutely' sure Leaf, RGIII, and Russell were going to be elite QBs. Doing homework and finding THE guy doesn't equate to being right. And if they're wrong, they should have known better. I'm all for getting a QB, but some seem to ignore the odds of failure.

I do n't think Darnold is that good. I may be wrong but he look like bust to me.
1.Bakerfield should be alright in nfl.
2.Allens look like a young Cam Newton.
3. Jackson running football is not going wk but so long????
4 Darnold usc qb???
5 Rosen need go to right team or he will fail in nfl.
Darnold is the youngest Qb in the NFL, I don’t believe he’s going to be a bust, quite the opposite imo..

Giants reportedly meet with Dwayne Haskins ahead of Ohio State's pro day; QB plan still murky

Here's what we know: The Giants need a quarterback, desperately. Here's what seems to be clear based on what we've been hearing: The Giants aren't interested in drafting a quarterback, at least not with their No. 6 pick. Of course, this is Subterfuge Season so perhaps this is all a ruse to throw us off the trail. Either way, here's the evidence to date:

I see it the opposite way. I think they want a QB this year and brought in Fitzpatrick to back up should the rookie falter in a game (or several), or start if the rookie isn't ready.

If the goal is to draft a QB next year, why bring in Fitz to likely win more games than one of the bums already on the roster?

you need to draft a qb with the 13 if haskins or lock is available.
what are you going to do, draft another linebacker you can draft in
the 3rd round?
