Between the 3 teams that I would say are likely to take a QB (Giants, Broncos, Bengals) and other less likely possibilities such as TB or Washington trade up I don't think either will be available.

I chose Haskins, Lock stares down his receivers a little too much for me.
Watching the film I also noticed that, plus he takes too long to throw in many cases. He won't be afforded that kind of time in the NFL. Either he has to change that or he'll throw a ton of INT's and be on his back quite a bit.

nether. Both would sit a year so I don't see the point of using a first rounder when better prospects will be there next year. Most here just want to draft a QB to draft a QB. "Draft a QB every year til you find one " well that shotgun approach wastes resources. This roster doesn't have that luxury of wasting anything. We got multiple holes on our lines. Like no starter in 4-5 spots type holes.

I am totally okay with either and have bounced back and forth on preference continuously. Murray is my #1 but I don't think he's a possibility.

I fully believe the Dolphins plan on moving up to take Haskins or Lock. I think they'll target the 7-9 range where it may only take a second rounder.

Right. He lacks anticipation and shows little or no evidence of being able to "throw open" a receiver...

Going back to Dan the Man -- who is easily BEST EVER at that!

But then again -- Marino essentially invented modern QB play

across the board (back shoulder etc.)

No one before had that kind of moxey/accuracy.

I was thinking about that watching some of these pro days -- Marino would throw the pig

seemingly 3 seconds before the receiver made his cut! It was amazing to watch in the stands...

Marino's anticipation was beyond human...

Anyway sorry for the digression/Marino ad -- Lock ain't no Danny but he's got some chops.

That's 100% why I like Haskins -- way better anticipation (probably best in class).

He probably should be (in that respect) 1st QB off the board...

(considering how important that quality IS in the NFL)

No need to apologize for the Danny ad, I'm in full agreement. Good assessment, I pretty much agree with everything. Lock always seemed to stare down his receiver and seem to wait till they were open before throwing. That is a recipe for disaster in the pro's, he has to throw the receiver open and I just don't see that from him. Can he change? Possibly, but you don't know until you have him. In all honesty, I would love to see them go after Trevor Lawrence, but most don't have the patience to wait that long.

I would prefer Haskins anyday. Just like his way of throwing in the pocket. And also I thought he had a good pro day the other day :)

I like the mental makeup and decision making for Haskins more than Lock. So if I had to choose one or the other, it'd be Haskins.

But I'd prefer to get Tua or Fromm in 2020.

If I had the #1 pick I would pick Haskins. My number 2 choice is Lock and I put Murray at 3 of the three QBs. I know I am swimming against the consensus but in a few years down the road we will hear all about Murray not understanding defenses and not putting the work required in. He has a god given talent but if the reports from the interviews hold true he has no understanding of complex defenses and his off the field work ethic was questionable.

Neither QB will be available when we pick. So let's trade up and get me some Haskins.

I read that about Murray also and that would have me nervous. At anytime he could just check out and head over to MLB, no at much thinking required there. Does he have the passion to learn and get better after someone guarantees him a ton of cash? I dunno.....

As I have stated many times before, I like them both and would be totally on board with us drafting either. If I had to chose though, it's simple, Haskins all the way. Just watch any game from Maryland onwards (when I truly believe Haskins grew up and became a top 10 pick), the kid is a special talent and I'm sure coupled with a good situation and the right coaching he will be a star in the league. I think Lock has a chance too, but there are just a few more questions with him. Murray and these two where one of the main reasons why I have stayed off the "this is a dumpster fire of a QB class" story that's been going around.
