Drafting At 13 Vs Future Contract Extension: Question

I'm leaning towards a trade down at this point because we have so many needs AND there are tons of quality players to be had in the second half of round 1. Particularly OL.

Looking back at how often players were misused or under-coached, I would not be shocked to see Jesse Davis turn into a pretty good right tackle. He was inserted at guard because there was less there. I could say the same about Asiata but that would be a much bigger stretch.

I would love to be in Oakland's shoes with three picks in round 1. Never mind the stud they can get at 4, there will also be guys like Dalton Risner, Chris Lindstrom, Garrett Bradbury, Erik McCoy sitting there at 24-27...among others.

I agree with you. I get the feeling Miami will trade down. And perhaps several times. There is enough depth at DL and OL to address the short comings at both positions several times, especially if Miami secures additional mid rounds picks?

Seeing how most of our players don't make it to their second contract as a Dolphin, you always draft BPA

Most teams will draft bpa at position of need as long as the grades there. Or close even.

That’s how it’s not hard to project what position groups teams will draft relative to bpa

I love Oliver as a player...hell, he was the only reason I would turn on a Houston game. I think he has the making of being one of the most dynamic DT in the NFL with his explosion and his athletic ability that would put him in the top 25% of linebackers. If he is there, I just don't see how you could pass him up.

With that said, I know the offensive line is in shambles and this franchise plans on bringing in a QB next year. I think you need to give him the best line possible so he can have success out the gate. For the Dolphins...an o-lineman me very well be BPA.
If Oliver is on the board and we draft an offensive lineman instead I will reattach my foreskin and then circumcise myself again.
