Minkah/#1 Slot Cb

Your always making those statements about your great eyeballs, like you are the greatest evaluator to ever live and watching games is all you need to make up your mind about everything.

Why is your memory a better source than professional analytics??

Please tell us why your eyeballs, your perspective is the end all be all of player evaluations??

It has nothing to do with great eyeballs. He was worth watching every game because you saw how a veteran savvy he was already in his rookie season and with the offense being such a bore at times he gave me extra motivation to keep watching all the games.

And if you know anything about me and my posts, I am very much a numbers person. Its why I love talking salary cap and giving perspective on Reshad Jones and Ryan Tannehill using a variation of stats.

Don’t be mad because I am not one dimensional like yourself and just rely on one source to claim knowledge.

PFF is one source, use it to compliment what you see not as the entire basis of your argument.

Its the difference between saying Minkah was “a catastrophe” and that Minkah showed promise but needed to work on a few things to excel.

Howard was pretty awful on PFF two years ago to begin the season but now he’s pretty much an All Pro. You could see that if you watched . . . Not just watched on paper.

Stats are a tricky thing. There are 11 men on the field and they are all dependent upon one another. They also must depend on the coordinators/coaches to put them in the best possible position to suceed.

I trust my eyeballs more than I trust stats. I always go back to that funny saying, "Are you going to believe me or your lying eyes?"

Haven't you ever been in a debate wherein stats were manipulated to make a point? That's because stats can be misleading and can be used accordingly.

Minkah performed best in the league at slot cb in 2018. I'm pretty sure there is a slot receiver on most downs, effectively your slot corner is a starter. I'd rather have the best in the league at any position then a slightly above average safety. No clue why someone would want to trade that away.

Wow man, do you have any idea how you are coming across when you say these things. If you were a great evaluator and were right about most things, then, well, even then some humility might be required; but you are wrong about everything most of the time.

I wouldn't trust your opinion over most others, let alone professional analytics organizations.

Just who do you think you are?

Perhaps you should write a manifesto describing all your great accomplishments in football evaluations.

You could call it, mein kamf and how I became a legend in my own mind.

You don’t have to trust my opinions because I damn sure ain’t trusting your PFF regurgitation.

But it has gotten quite funny how defensive you are getting when all I have asked you to do is add other avenues to your PFF stats instead of using that as your sole source of debate.

How about sticking to the topic at hand, which is Minkah Fitzpatrick . . .not your illplaced jabs at me and my posting prowess.

Thataway to keep it civil.

What are we arguing about fellas, a very good player? We are all winning.

And wait until Flores gets his hands on him. We're talking probowl, baby.

I think the key here is to figure out what you want to do with Minkah going forward, and where he needs development. If you want to continue using him as a Swiss Army Knife but you don't think his safety skills have developed enough, play him a season at safety. If you want him dedicated to playing slot, you stick him at slot and forget about it. It's up to the staff.

With the pass rushers and linebackers this team currently looks to field in 2019, our secondary is going to be put in terrible spots for 16 games. He will get a hell of a lot of tough reps, so you might as well stick him where you think he needs them.

Minkah needs to play FS just to have a full time spot. But the Dolphins don't need him to play FS. The Dolphins already have a FS. That is the problem with Minkah. No need to save him. Get picks.
The "Save Minkah" movement is ridiculous.
