They won't be tanking, they will just stink up the joint on Sunday. The lack of talent will be on full display. The coaching might not be any better than Adam Gase as well. We will have to give Flores some time before making a rush judgement because of the situation he is coming into....total rebuild mode.

In it to WIN IT!

You play to WIN the Game!

Don't like the JEST, but Ole Herm summed it up pretty good.

My personal belief is whatever you do in life do your very best and let the chips fall.

If Tanking is the attitude, then declare to the NFL that you are forfeiting every game for 2019.

At least you would be honest and you would not risk getting anybody hurt in a game and could spend all of 2019 practicing and scouting College, CFL, AAFL, XFL, UPS & FedEx for players for 2020.

That's EXACTLY how ludicrous tanking sounds.

Dad doesn't believe in it, America won't do it and neither should the Dolphins.

TRY your best to win! See what happens.

2008 Dolphins 11-5 - Greatest Turnaound in NFL History!
Try to do something special - Be remembered for something other than giving up!

Don't really care if I get flamed by those proposing the "Logic" of Tanking.

Tanking is just a Loser mentality in my opinion and not something I'm willing to subscribe to.

Thank you. You actually put it better than I did.

They say Ryan Fitzpatrick looks a lot like Conor McGregor and he will resemble him after McGregor's match with Khabib playing behind this line. Also, McGregor recently retired from MMA and Fitzpatrick might be soon to follow.

Playing behind a poor offensive line not only puts a toll on a QB's body physically, but mentally it can destroy a player confidence in himself.

I don't believe in the concept of tanking since it infers that a team/player is intentionally not giving 100% effort and losing on purpose.

Instead, I think that rebuilding will result in some short-term pain for long-term returns. If this regime can do it right we may see a return to the days when they were competitive every season. I am reserving judgement on this regime until after the 2019 season. I want to see if Flores can defy the odds and be a successful coach from the Belichick coaching tree. I want to see the front office use all of the cap space and draft choices next year responsibly and not sign high priced free agents only looking for a payday. I want to see a distinct direction for the team and not some unfounded speculation a month before the draft. I want to see what they do in the next wave of free agency. I want to see what this coaching staff rolls out and if they can game plan better than their predecessors. Until then, I will avoid blanket statements and take the opinion of others on message boards with a grain of salt.

What tanking? They have a vet QB, they have vet receivers. They need to get a PROTOTYPICAL QB, not Tua. And they need to fix the MESS THEY CREATED in the trenches and in the secondary!!! Get it fkn done in FA, and in the draft! The 5mil they incurred and dished out to Tanehill would come off their salary. Get the GROWN MEN in the trenches in FA. Get elite DBs in the draft.
And get the best D coordinator too, not first year project coaches!
Get sht done, stop fkn around. Now.
But since they are not doing it, fire them now, and get someone who get things done, right!

A monkey can do the tanking, comes cheaper than these idiots, and that's who they should hire for tanking. Go to the Miami zoo and get some monkeys to run the team. And monkey will be more loveable. They will have an excuse.

You say they aren't tanking but then later on you want to fire them for tanking?????? Let's get it straight

That must be so pleasing to some people. Miami has been mediocre for over a decade, the "win now" folks have 2008 and 2016. Keep 'em, I want a decade or more of playoffs and superbowl wins by rebuilding for the future.

Funny how they had the #1, #2 and number 3 pick in that time. Tanking doesn’t guarantee anything.

I don't care about the terminology.

To continue, there needs to be a significant change in culture/competence. I'm against a 'pure' tank,' but that "significant change" has to involve shedding bottom third players with top third contracts. With the exception of Parker, I think Flores has done that.

One of my concerns continues to be what happens if Miami gets "THE" QB and he ends up being the next Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russel. It seems too many have this two step thinking - step 1, get QB - step 2, go to SB. No room for "THE" QB may not be "THE" QB. Tanking provides an opportunity, not a guarantee.

Players don't have to play less than 100 % to tank, you just need coaches to call the wrong plays or formations .make no half time ajustments.poor clock management fair catching a ball inside your 5yard line.
There are ways around making the players give less than everything.

And that’s my point: if we do land Tua, there’s no guarantee that he’ll be that guy.

Marino is (in my opinion) the greatest passing QB to ever play the game. Bar none, records be damned. I grew up watching that guy.

So there you go guys!! There’s your awesome QB!!

Who took us to one Super Bowl.

One.

That we lost.

This is not a reflection on Marino, not at all. This proves that while you may have an elite QB (which we surely did for 16 years!), you must have a complete team around him.

Was Flacco elite? How about Dilfer? Were they worthy of carrying Marino’s cleats?

I don’t think so. But they do have rings because they had better teams than Dan did.

I don’t think Brady is what the world thinks he is. Oh, he’s mighty good. But not in Marino’s class. This is not old fashioned Brady hating talk. It’s how I see it. But he is ALWAYS surrounded by a strong team. Brady doesn’t take NE to the Super Bowl. The whole team takes NE to the Super Bowl.

So yeah, we need a QB. Badly. And soon.

But it would be idiocy to tank and sell the farm to get one, with no promise that the guy we get is worth the price.
