I looked at the nfl standings the last few years. To have a top 5 pick I think we need fewer than 5 wins. Better would be fewer than 3 wins. That should be a first or second pick.
 
Miami will need 3 or less wins to pick in the top 5. CK put out stats covering the last 30 years with the number of teams who got the # 1 pick. It revealed the odds of getting the #1 pick with each win a team finishes with. 4-5 wins will most probably get you in the top 5-6. But guarantee top 5 would most probably mean 3 or less wins.
 
Or finishing with 8 wins after trading down in round 1 this year for a 2020 1st rounder (and 2nd day pick this year), packaging those picks next year to move up.
 
You guys are funny. Fitzpatrick gon' crank it to 9 games this year. This is the best QB the Dolphins have had since Pennington.
 
IMHO, we should be looking to get a top 2 pick for 2020, because whichever QB we like, there are unlikely to be more than 2 top QB's and teams are even less likely to trade the pick. While there are a good 3 top prospects today … generally the NFL finds a consensus of 1 or two top guys. I can't see a team with more than 4 wins getting a top 2 pick. If we win 5, we could be outside of the top 5 picks entirely.

IMHO, Tanking is going to require 0 - 4 wins. Any more and we're mortgaging the future to try to trade up a few spots.
 
Ya Fitz is fine, but we got rid of a lot of plsyers, while our rivals are getting stronger.
