The Latest 2-round Mock From Kiper & Mcshay

Hoops, what's your reasoning behind your hunch, Miami selects Gary @ #13. How do you see him fitting in?

Many things. Youth, athletic upside, poa play, prototypical measurables, test scores, scheme fit and versatility

I think they’d prefer Oliver all things being equal but I don’t expect him to be there.

To people who don't want a Safety, Thornhill, Savage, and Edwards have been on my radar literally all year as players Miami should target, because they're versatile DB's who make plays on the ball at a high rate. They can all cover in man or zone, and they all tackle. Even if you move Fitzpatrick to Safety, having another Safety with a versatile skillset is . . . a good thing. You should only draft DB's who excel in coverage.

Thornhill is a freak athlete who also played well at CB. Because of his playmaking ability and his athleticism, he has a very high ceiling. Because of both of the aforementioned and his versatility, he also has a high floor. He's one of the top 10-15 defenders that Miami should want in this class.

He certainly has the size for 3/4 DE. What's your take on the notion he was misused in college? How do you see his skillset being used in Miami?

I'm ok with Gary or Oliver but not ok with yet another freaking safety and if we're drafting a QB in the first round in 2020 then why draft one with our 2nd pick now?

For one thing you can never count on what your gonna get next year at QB... and to base all your plans on that is bad draft strategy in my estimation.

Also... until you find a real QB drafting one yearly is an excellent plan at the most important position in sports.

When you have a shot at somebody your high on...you do it!

What if you're not high on any (as ever becoming a top tier starter)?

Including the top 3 prospects?

If we're high on Haskins or Lock, fine. Use the 13th pick (my guess is a big ol' no on that).

Otherwise, pick BPA.

I don’t think he’s a 5 tech ideal. I think he’s a true de but in our scheme inside and outside shoulder of the tackle use and some kick inside ask.

This isn’t what I hope happens either. I’d want Ed Oliver personally. I think he can do the same things and is more safe.

Just how I think it’s gonna go if Oliver is gone and Gary is still on the board come pick 13.

Usage wise in college ask looks similar to Chris wormsley strong side de but with a whole nother level of athlete and physical tools.

I think you are dead wrong - I think OL or DL, and project qb later! Bullets in the chamber to get the qb they like best next year not this!!! -
they going pick qb this yr. it may not be first rd but they going pick qb. they don't have choice this yr. fitz is 36. he suck too. Tua will be exposed next yr. he may be available in 2nd rd.

very rear GM hit on all their pick. how many pick u thing will help team yr 1,2 or 3. for example we are still waiting on harris to help team out.

I'm ok drafting a QB till you get it right. If they feel Finley is a guy they can win with then go for it but if they're going to draft a QB hoping they might get lucky then do it later than the 2nd round. At 48 I'd like to get a guy that can start year one. We'll have several O-line guys and DE's to pick from at that spot. Take a QB in the 4th or 5th round if you must but don't waste a high pick on one that you're not sure about. I like Finley to a point btw but I haven't seen him play enough to tell one way or the other. If we had a very good team and all we needed was a QB then I'd say draft not one but two. However, with the lack of talent we have up front in both sides of the ball I'd prefer taking care of those with our first 3 or 4 picks.

Lets play hypothetical. Haskins falls to you at 13...you turn in the card or no?

Don’t tell me the he won’t stuff. Just yes or no

If Haskins is there at 13 I believe he'd be the pick tho you have to wonder with all the teams that need a QB, why is he still there at 13?

for some strange reason I think haskins will be there at 13 and we will find a way to pass. like we all way do. than redskins pick haskins
