Raekwon's Rise: Mcmillan Is Healthy & Excited To Work With New Staff

That's your own bias speaking.

My opinion is based on what we seen last year. And he was routinely on skates the first 8 games of the season. Yes he may have marginally gotten better, but his improvement was lost as we seen the A gaps continually abused through out the WHOLE season.

No. I haven’t formed an opinion because he’s a young player coming off an injury. That’s the point. I saw a young (still developing) player improve his play throughout the season and I’m not ready to cast him off like some of you. You can’t build a team with your mindset

You need bodies to play the game, preferably young ones. You also donm't have enough draft capitol to replace everybody, hopefully he continues to get better otherwise this staff will find somebody else

The Chef showed signs of improvement (turning a corner) as the season closed. Rehabbing (physically but most important mentally) is a crapshoot for players regardless of age.

Some bounce back quickly, some gradually bounce back, and unfortunately some never recover.

He strikes me as a quiet humble kind of guy who'll put in the necessary work to recover both mentally and physically from his unfortunate setback.

Lastly, even with him playing hesitant in the early portion of last season; he still solidly produced.

To be fair he played his best game vs cinn that was inside the first 8 weks

I have no idea what you base this opinion on. If anything you could say Baker showed up.

Either way, to be fair, I never said he was a blight. I said he was routinely on skates the first 8 weeks of the season. CINCI still had 100 yards rushing, scored 27 points and we lost.

Please sight where I'm trying to "cast him off".

I said in a earlier post, that I hope he shows more in 2019 than he did in 2018. He has issues with getting off blocks and being swept out of plays. He routinely lost one on one battles and struggled to maintain his gap responsibility.

I hope he gets better, but I do not need 5 years to determine if he is worth his 2nd round grade.

Remember this 2018 Dolphins Defense was historically bad. Which ALL of them should own. Scheme was bad, but will and one on one fights seen to many people on their backs or swept out for huge running lanes.

Hoping he can turn the corner this year. He looked overwhelmed last year and not overly athletic. I am sure coming back from injury played a role in that. He did look a little better as the season rolled on. Our defense also got rolled on as the season went on. Go figure.

Interesting he was rated 2nd behind Kuechly at MLB from week 5 til end of season and it showed. He was dreadful in preseason and first month and looked like the rookie he was and struggling with reads, speed of game and confidence of his injury.

I for one fully expect to see him be the player we all expected to be when drafted this next season.

I agree completely.

Last year he was essentially a rookie coming off serious injury. He played much better the last half of the season, improving, almost week to week.

I never expected a perennial pro bowler when we drafted him. I expected a solid, dependable player. It looks like he can be that going forward.

McMillan improved as the season went on. I think after another offseason of healing and health, we fans will see an even better, version of McMillan. This coaching staff, seems to have a better grasp of implementing a defensive system that works, compared to the confusion that took place on the field last season. With better coaching and better health, McMillan has a chance to finally shine?
