The Latest 2-round Mock From Kiper & Mcshay

Lets play hypothetical. Haskins falls to you at 13...you turn in the card or no?

Don’t tell me the he won’t stuff. Just yes or no

Nah. He needs a better situation than what Miami will be able to provide ... unless the plan is to sit him until conditions become more favorable.

To people who don't want a Safety, Thornhill, Savage, and Edwards have been on my radar literally all year as players Miami should target, because they're versatile DB's who make plays on the ball at a high rate. They can all cover in man or zone, and they all tackle. Even if you move Fitzpatrick to Safety, having another Safety with a versatile skillset is . . . a good thing. You should only draft DB's who excel in coverage.

Thornhill is a freak athlete who also played well at CB. Because of his playmaking ability and his athleticism, he has a very high ceiling. Because of both of the aforementioned and his versatility, he also has a high floor. He's one of the top 10-15 defenders that Miami should want in this class.

Interesting. Patriots loved using a lot of DBs. I can see this. Maybe they think they can get dline later.

they going pick qb this yr. it may not be first rd but they going pick qb. they don't have choice this yr. fitz is 36. he suck too. Tua will be exposed next yr. he may be available in 2nd rd.

They need to add talent at the QB position for sure!!!

Yeah, it just depends on how Miami wants to attack the process of building a team from the ground up. I would focus on OL, WR, and TE if possible. I think there are several excellent prospects and fits from those groups, and it just depends on whether and where each is available.

But I really love me some Thornhill.

I have a family member in the sports journalist business, who covers many of the Colleges in my area; They absolutely loves Thornhill. That's all I've heard about since the beginning of the college season. Needless to say I'm hoping Miami selects Thornhill @#48?

Did the draft happen yet? Who did we draft? Get to it already.

Yuck. Gary looks like a beast but there's something very wrong with his inability to translate all that ability into production.

Finley is a career backup at best. I like his ability to operate an offense and he knows proper ball placement, but his lack of arm strength is going to expose him on the NFL level. Eventually, teams will just squat on the short routes. Second round is waaaay too high.

I like this post because it gets right to the point, in a sort of roundabout manner.

It always seems to me that at this point in the NFL seasonal cycle, opinions are more plentiful because no one really knows what who the teams are going to draft or what their FA plans are. Unfortunately this is true for some of the teams management too.

Now, when the fans don't get the players they wanted or the positions addressed the way they wanted to be addressed, they go off the rails for the whole year; and sometimes even longer. While playing the guessing game is fun, I wouldn't take it too seriously.

All that counts is what the team is able to do with the people they have. I find it interesting to see how the coaches deal with the players and all the variety of personalities they represent; from the prima donnas (some more justified then others) to those that appreciate their situation and the opportunity it provides; and those just along for the ride and the money (until they're kicked off the bus).

Watching the team go through the season is like watching a small community responding to the challenges of life. Some do it better then others.

With our new coaching staff and new players I don't have a clue how this season will end, but it should be interesting; sometimes heartbreaking; sometimes comical and once and while awe inspiring. NO, I don't mean the ah #!!# kind of awe inspiring. I mean the Gronk eating some turf while we scored kind of inspiring. We just won't know until the games are played.

Lets take this season as it comes, because we can't really control it and we may be surprized at the performance the new coaching staff will provide.

Assuming my memory is correct here. Do you think it was better when we had the Draft 1st and the FA period afterwards?

Maybe it's my life experiences, but I dislike post with absolutes. 'Murray WILL BE HOF.' Or, 'Player X DOESN'T have the speed.' We're dealing with humans. The best we can say is 'I don't think . . .,' or, 'It's likely . . . ' No one knows. Sometimes they'll be right and brag often. Sometimes they'll miss and, oops.

Or this . . . ' If the staff finds a guy they think is the future, do whatever it takes.' Yup, until the staff picks a guy they don't want, then the staff is full of idiots. But, I understand. It's the slow part of the year, everyone knows how to get the team to the SB, and prescience is everywhere.

I said a while back I'd like a thread on draft day allowing (requiring?) posters to name THEIR pick while Miami's on the clock. No more 'could have had . . . ' in December. I'll add another. The day before draft day, everyone lists their 'can't miss' players. Those who will be perennial All-Pro. As for me, I watch, maybe, 2-3 college games a year. Don't care about college. I only know names I read here. You're right, some take it WAY to seriously.

I want kyler Murray, Ed Oliver, or devin white. I’m fully prepared for I’m not gonna get any of them.

I like Eric McCoy and Julian love in the 2nd round.

I like Nelson and omenihu in the 3rd. And I might like lj Collier in tbat same range haven’t really seen enough.

Db wise I’ve only looked at 3. Think miamis going trenches first 2 days. Greedy Williams who continues to show a media grade in the 40 range which surprises me cause I see starting #2 cb there with high level ball skills and route recognition. Must be the tackling keeping him down I guess. Something I must be missing.

I’ve seen the Washington corner also. So much zone scheme ask in college I lost count.

And I’ve seen Julian love. Who im a fan of. But not for the boundary.

I wouldn’t touch a rb til the mid rounds. Value seems to be all there with the position imo. 3rd-5th round. In miamis case day 3.

I haven’t looked at any WRs don’t see miami going there early but I like Isabella as a slot with long speed in the 3rd.

Tight end wise with 5 in the building and a top 50 pick used on it last year plus a 4th rounder im doubting any add coming there early. So haven’t taken much of a look

Probably been lazier this year than I’ve ever been. Without a qb I’m just kinda meh about it all

You’re right on the money.

It’s fun to speculate but going off the rails before whatever guys we pick up hit the field is exasperating.
