Tanking can be done without getting anyone hurt.
Coachs calling bad plays, assignment, clock management ,bad challengs , sitting players with minor injuries , trading away good players and the list goes on.
You don't have to jeopardize players health or attitude to tank.
Your description sounds like what we’ve been watching for years, I’d like to see change.

Paradise by the tanking light!

If Rizzi walked away because he didn't get the HC job then I have no problem watching the door hit him in the azz on the way out.
What makes him think he should have been hired just because he worked with the team.

You don't let talent known talent like that walk out the door unless you have to. Sure if he had to be the head coach then you have no choice but if he joined the saints and stayed in the same position he had here then we screwed up. Rizi could take fa and 7th rounders and make them NFL stars. So money certainly should not have been a issue seeing as we spend millions on bums who never make the team.

Yeah but he interviewed for the head coaching job and never got it. So he made the smart move to move on. Obviously his aspirations are to move up on the coaching tree. Interviewing with miami and not getting the job just to stay on that same team until you retire is probably not the best option for him. Go somewhere else regardless if he is still cosching special teams and who knows what can happen on the market. But staying in miami wasnt gonna get rizzi anywhere. I liked rizzi too. But put yourself in his shoes.
