Locked On... Rds. 2-7

That’s a quality meat and potatoes draft. I’d prefer a different developmental QB but other than that not bad.

While it addresses a lot of needs, I think drafting any safety, rb, or wr on this team would be a mistake.

We do not have holes at those positions and need more oline, dline, and line backers...

Skill positions can be addressed with undrafted free agents

Not to bad. I would not take a O-Lineman in the first. I would take a QB/DL at 13 or trade down and grab one of the top 2-3 CBs to pair up with XMan. Imagine a top CB with XMan/Fitz/McDonald/McCain, now that could be one of the top defensive backfields as well as the youngest.

We do have holes at safety. Especially if we view Reshad Jones as someone we are trying to trade. McDonald takes bad angles and isnt great in coverage. I think we will often see 3 safeties on the field going forward. We have 3 currently, but not long term.

we should to plan for the future at safety, we need help today at DE

I don’t want to really listen to the whole podcast so guess I don’t really understand it, is that a mock draft?

Why does it say rounds 2-7, are they suggesting those are our picks after a trade down?

Not bad whatsoever. I think we end up taking Gilliard in the spot that he has us taking the RB, and then taking a QB like Easton Stick instead of Minshew.

Overall, I like it.

How did we come up with 9 picks? I highly doubt we go O-line with our first two picks tho.

Why do you doubt that? It's a massive drop off in talent if you're not getting some of the top offensive linemen.

Just a feeling that Flores will want at least one D-line guy with one of his first two picks. I do agree with you that the O-line run could start early and go fast so I want us to draft one of them in the first two rounds.

If we can move back enough to get an extra 2 then I could see us going O-line with two of the 3 picks.

I am inclined to go DL with the first pick. Even if we trade down as many expect, in the lower part of round 1, you can get a cornerstone defensive lineman. I am thinking of Jeffrey Simmons or Dexter Lawrence. Simmons might be an especially evil genius move because he is coming off injury.

If Miami trades down, ideally you get a 2020 1 and a 2019 5 as the Packers did in the Davenport deal with New Orleans. If you can't get a 2020 one, getting a 2 back in the 2019 draft is interesting.

Let's say you come out with a lower one, two 2's, and a three:

Can you work the draft and get Jeffrey Simmons, Lindstrom, Chase Winovich, and Kentucky corner Lonnie Johnson, Jr.? I'd want a raise if I were Grier and I pulled that off.

I'm not the biggest fan of drafting Simmons(good player) but I really like Wilkins and Lawrence. Would love to get Lindstrom but not sure he'll make it to 48. I like Winovich tho.
If we don't get a DT in the first round then there's a few other options in the 2nd and 3rd round like Willis, Khalen Saunders and Greg Gaines.
