Russell Wilson May Be On The Trade Block? Would You Want Dolphins Trade For Him?

Three 1st round picks for any one of the top three Qbs in this draft, and therefore Russell Wilson as well. It's all the same, 4-year contract, a SB window.

God no! I like him but 4 1st round picks is way too steep. Draft our QB for the future. Stick to the damn plan for god sake!!!!

Here is another way to put it:

Would you trade Laremy Tunsil, Charles Harris and Minkah Fitzpatrick for Russell Wilson in his prime? (You could also throw in DeVante Parker if you think 4 1st rounders)

Ha - touche! :) But let's be honest, we'll never bust as hard as we did with Harris and Parker again. ;)

That is interesting. Honestly, I think Wilson is the fourth best quarterback in the NFL behind Brady, Rogers and Brees. As a fan, of course I'd want to have him. Isn't that exactly what Miami is looking for and missing right now? As far as what I'd give up, two #1's sound about right. Plus, from Seattle's standpoint those would likely be high #1's, 13th this year and probably top 10 in 2020.

I would give them our next 4 #1 picks and not think twice

Y’all want an elite QB but you wanna beat around the bush trying to get it....
Agreed. He’s great and a winner and has all the intangibles. I’d trade our last 4 1st rounders for him just to put things in context. I’d trade Charles Harris 4x if that helped.

Well we had John Avery, Jamar Fletcher and Jason Allen so good chance it can happen again.

It’s seems lately everyone is acting like Brees and Brady are the norm. I don’t believe all of a sudden just any QB can be great at 40. So I think most are just assuming we’ll get 10 pro bowl seasons out of Wilson. I don’t believe this.

Also I believe Wilson’s wife wants to be in New York and Wilson’s agent just happened to notice the Giants have two 1st round picks.
About Brees - off topic but his arm did not look as good late in the season.

If there’s a QB his age that could make it happen for another 15 years, id say Russ is a safe bet.

I didn’t claim he could do it, just said he claimed that he wants to

Not entirely sure what makes you think he couldn’t. Most durable QB in the NFL

He’d be the first non pure pocket progression one to. So odds are really stacked against it id say.

A young elite dual threat Qb in his prime, sure I’m interested..

So yall would rather draft 3 Charles Harris than get a legit QB.

What's funny is most talent in NFL is in 2md and 3rd round. And gems are found in 4th 5th and even udfa.

Fitzpatrick and this team is not going to be bad enough to get Tua, add another year of drafting building the core and a 2nd year of Fitzpatrick isnt going to ne us Lawrence either!

Consider the 1st round picks we've made as a franchise the past decade Ginn 8, Phillip Merling, RT17, Dion Jordan, Jajuan James, Charles Harris tell me in a straight face that 1st round picks matter, more than half bust every year! You wouldn't trade 3 of those guys for a QB that would bring in credibility and winning ways.

Even if he does play to 37, we would continue to have draft picks, heck with his play alone he would elevate some players play high enough to allow them to leave and net us comp picks.

Salary cap is fools gold, every year teams figure out how to work in their favor.

If we gave 3 1st picks. In the 2nd and 3rd round we could have McCoy at C, LT at LT, and Yodney Cajuste at RT, along with the WRs, tes, ribs we currently have we would be playoff team year one. Then with 9 picks next year and say 85 million in cap due to Russels cap number we plug in premier defensive talent and boom you're right 5here with the best teams in the league, with only 1 more year to give away the oh so coveted 1st round pick.

This is a silly argument with valid reasons on both sides, but look at big picture and the sides of the argument become silly, it's TRUE RW would cost a lot, but that's because he deserves it to get him, and we actually can afford to make that move to get him and jumpstart an incredible rebuild and be consistent winners again and build through the draft all while trading for him. Oh and we could also draft a QB during the next several years to keep the consistency and credibility going like the packers, Steelers, Pat's, and those great teams do. They get their QB and draft and build around him!

Oh forgot the other stud first round picks such as Jason Allen, Ronnie Brown, Mike Pouncey, DeVante Parker, Jared Odrick..
.you really wouldn't trade the best 3 of those combined for a winner, borderline elite and Franchise QB. I'd say you ****ing crazy!

This is just a bad situation to trade so much assets for an elite QB... There's litterally no talent left on the Fins... Sure Wilson might be good for 4-5 wins by himself, but add 4-5 wins on a 3-4 wins team and you're still not contending, and devoid of any resources to actually improve the team outside of the QB...

This is by no means a shot at Wilsons ability, its just that the Fins are in such a particular situation that giving up a ton of assets + a very big salary cap allocation to any QB would most probably result in a waste of time...

And lets not even discuss how Russel Wilson would feel and how motivated he would be to end up here... Im pretty certain his first thought would be: "FML!"

It's pretty crazy how one poster casually said "I'd give up 4 1sts and not think twice" to prove a point and it turned into a 13pg thread.

Literally nothing better to talk about on here than an absurd hypothetical... man, we are going to be bad this year.
