I really hope they're just trying to get a team to trade with them by making them think we really want him. I just heard this in the NFLN that he's meeting with them today.

I could see Washington at 15 or the Giants at 17 grabbing Jones.

I could see NE using one of their many day two picks on Ryan Finley.

Smart, would be an ideal candidate to trade back up into the first if he falls a little bit.

I don't know anything about these college QB's or even players in general, but take your defensive stud @ 13 (build around D) and trade up for Jones if the opportunity presents itself.

He may not have the highest ceiling, but he could be a decent starter/premium back up which is absolutely worth a late first round pick.

If you draft him late first you could even draft another QB hi next year if we really suck, but if you take any QB's @ 13 or before that's not a great use of resources.

Jones is going to get taken in the first round whether people on this site like him or not because he is a very good QB prospect, that 5th year option is very enticing which is why Baltimore traded up to #32 last year imo.

Disaster. Not surprising that Grier who has no idea how awful 17 was for all those years is looking at a guy who is a lot like him. Disaster.

Meeting with a prospect (any prospect) during draft prep is a "disaster?"

Teams take many meetings to outwardly demonstrate interest to the other teams, despite having no interest themselves.

Regardless of the reason for the meeting, a "disaster" would never be the correct characterization.

if he's there in round 2, I can see us taking him. Even if we trade back in the first, I don't think we select him there.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Every team is doing their due diligence on players in the draft. Doesn’t mean they’re going to draft every one they have a work out with.
