Miami Doing Due Diligence On Rosen -peter King

Does the fact that his entire coaching staff was fired mean anything, especially in light of them having a top 5 RB who shat the best in the same system...?

Or did he get them fired? Because it looks like he's about to be fired himself from a team that used a top ten pick on him just last year. Has an organization ever given up on a first round QB that fast? Im seriously asking.

Not that I can recall. This isn’t just 1st round this is trade into the top 10 first round

The only reason why Murray to Arizona is even a thing is because Kliff said something before being hired on about he'd take him first and now the Cardinals are playing the game.

Its also one of the few times a team has had an opportunity to take a better prospect the very next year.

I agree but the only reason they have that opportunity is because he had one of the worst seasons for a rookie QB. Hence why they have the first overall pick.

Cincinnati
Akil Smith then David Klingler one year later
Smith was an alcoholic and Klinger just sucked.

If there's a re-build why do it this season, I really don't see anything next season that will outshine this season, the dolphins will be better than expected and maybe the # 9 pick next season and still won't get the person that this board think is the next coming of Dan Marino. Rosen would be a great choice for this team.

I think that's a massive exaggeration on two counts - there have been many far worse rookie QB campaigns, and them picking first is not due to his performance. Nearly the whole team is terrible and those that aren't were coached badly.

He did not play well last year, but plenty of other teams have got by with a QB throwing an 11-14 TD/Int ratio and completing 55% of his passes, especially with such a talented RB. I mean we're not talking about Ryan Leaf here.

Miami's a good spot for this kid because he has a tendency to say extremely stupid things without thinking first, and South Florida is a real softball media market.

He definitely didn't get his coaching staff fired. I'm not too high on Rosen after what I saw of him as a rookie, but to blame him for that trainwreck is absurd. That was a badly constructed roster with a coaching staff that was in over its head. That kid had no chance.

That team was not 2-14 terrible. That had a middle of the road defense. A top 5 running back. Fitzgerald. Christian Kirk. Gresham. Their oline wasnt good. Our miami dolphins were worst. Our defense was bottom 4 in the league. We won 7 games with so called terrible coaching.

I’ve never doubted his talent. It’s the two concussions and odd personality that’s always concerned me on Rosen.

What’s the issues with the odd personality. Is it because he is an atheist? Because he is outspoken politically? I know those have been issues in the past to the point teams were questioning drafting him. I like it. It’s refreshing to see a player that does not have the beliefs that 90 percent of the league does, and has the balls to call out racist, sexist and incompetent political behaviour... the concussions concern me more, but for a third it’s totally worth it

For the record, he's. it being fired. He's caught up in a lateral movement in his industry.

Is this a team giving up on a draft pick, or taking advantage of what they see as a better opportunity?

If Haskins falls to us at 13 and we go 2-14, 3-13, and we get the 1st pick....is Tua out of the question?

Klingler & Smith we’re drafted 7 years apart. No team has ever taken a QB in the first round in back to back drafts. The closest was Dallas- they took Aikman #1 & used their 1990 first round pick on Steve Walsh in the supplemental draft. A few teams have taken a QB in the first round a year after taking a QB in the 2nd round.
