Go On Record..... Who Do The Fins Picks At #13?

I’m on record saying that the Fins will NOT be picking at 13

Look for the trade down

I'm starting to hear that Wilkins won't even make it to 13. Both Buffalo and the Lions are in play for him.
I forgot that Patrica is from the Belichek tree. Detroit would be a logical spot for Wilkins. Hopefully not, but now I'm curious, because of of all the health issues being reported on some of the players expected to go in the top 10.

Moving pick 13 down for another 2nd then picking up Jeffery Simmons makes a ton of sense, he will more than likely sit out 2019 season or at least the biggest part of it and won't be full healthy until sometime in 2020 so he not getting in the way of a top 3 pick and we have added an extra 2nd to use on the offensive line. If Simmons is gone take the best DL, OL, CB you can get your hands on. Get the extra 2nd rounder

I suspect we will trade down.

To make it more interesting I will predict we trade down with either the Giants or the Raiders. In the end I feel the Giants will use their second 1st round pick at 17 or Oakland will use its second 1st round pick (24) or their third 1st round pick (27) for a QB they are interested in, if he is available to the Dolphins at pick 13.

I feel those two teams are looking for, but are not desperate for, a replacement QB and they have the draft capital (multiple 1st round picks) to move up if they see one they want and a trade is a possibility. The dolphins are in a good spot for that possibility at pick 13.

Keep in mind the Giants & Oakland are looking for a developmental QB and may be using different criteria to base their QB evaluations on as opposed to teams with very immediate needs at QB. This is why I think a QB they may be interested in could be available at 13 combined with their multiple 1st round picks which limit their risk in this kind of undertaking.

There are likely to be additions to the 1st round pick in any trade negotiations, but those would likely be 3rd round or further back. I don't see how the Dolphins could refuse such an offer unless they want the player available at 13 more then they want to get an extra pick with only a slight loss of 1st round positioning (13 to 17).

To put more of a point on my prediction my prioritized choices are:

1) The Giants give us their remaining 1st round pick (17), a 4th and a 6th or equivalent(assuming they have any in those rounds).

2) Oakland gives us their third 1st round pick (27) a 3rd, a 4th and a 6th or equivalent (assuming they have any in those rounds).

Trade back with Giants......take best available DL.

I find it hard to believe he goes before Oliver but that works for me if Wilkins goes top 10
I didn't say he would go ahead of Oliver, I said he is a definite possibility to Buffalo especially if Oliver is already gone.

Everyone thinks we are trading down which likely means we won't trade down. Its just not that easy to do. I don't see the QB prospects In this draft to see the trading up partner. Don't get me wrong I'd love to trade back to make it almost certain we don't take a lackluster QB

Love predicting the draft. Will be interesting to see what Flores does but if it's business as usual with Grier it's fill the hole. The largest hole on the team is defensive end.

Last year to me tight end and linebacker screamed attention early Fitz fell which made for a great pick.

The year before defensive end screamed help and we reached for Harris.

Gases first year it was , cornerback, running back and Tunsil fell and we grabbed that talent.

So our success in the first round has been taking what the draft gives you. (That should be our philosophy in every round of course).

So my prediction is it's a top defensive end we can't pass on or trade back via Bill B for more picks.

Now that being said I have always been a fan of JJ drafts (I believe Bill B copied them some what) who traded back for more picks and drafted his teams needs in pairs to cover his bases. Parcell drafted in pairs also. Makes sense and it's great insurance. Especially for a loosing club roster like ours currently.

I didn't say he would go ahead of Oliver, I said he is a definite possibility to Buffalo especially if Oliver is already gone.

Yeah I know. I’m just saying the higher Oliver goes the more likely I can see Wilkins in front of us.

I hope they pick Drew Lock... I think they will pick Christian Wilkens if they don’t find a trade down.

I will be happy, if at the end of round 1 , we have a Clemson D Lineman
I would prefer ia trade down & more picks and taking Dexter Lawrence. If we stay at 13 we need we need ends most I would be taking #99 Ferrell. If Wilkins is the better player I will defer to the coach who knows the prospect best. All this assumes Haskins has not fallen to 13 and Oliver and Bush aren’t there.
