Go On Record..... Who Do The Fins Picks At #13?

If the Giants truly value Jones, I can see them wanting to leapfrog the Redskins and move up to 13. They have a high 2nd round pick(37) but might offer something next year as they don't pick again until 95. At 17 I would then look for Burns or Bradbury, Gary might even be there if he really is falling.

I suspect we will trade down.

To make it more interesting I will predict we trade down with either the Giants or the Raiders. In the end I feel the Giants will use their second 1st round pick at 17 or Oakland will use its second 1st round pick (24) or their third 1st round pick (27) for a QB they are interested in, if he is available to the Dolphins at pick 13.

I feel those two teams are looking for, but are not desperate for, a replacement QB and they have the draft capital (multiple 1st round picks) to move up if they see one they want and a trade is a possibility. The dolphins are in a good spot for that possibility at pick 13.

Keep in mind the Giants & Oakland are looking for a developmental QB and may be using different criteria to base their QB evaluations on as opposed to teams with very immediate needs at QB. This is why I think a QB they may be interested in could be available at 13 combined with their multiple 1st round picks which limit their risk in this kind of undertaking.

There are likely to be additions to the 1st round pick in any trade negotiations, but those would likely be 3rd round or further back. I don't see how the Dolphins could refuse such an offer unless they want the player available at 13 more then they want to get an extra pick with only a slight loss of 1st round positioning (13 to 17).

To put more of a point on my prediction my prioritized choices are:

1) The Giants give us their remaining 1st round pick (17), a 4th and a 6th or equivalent(assuming they have any in those rounds).

2) Oakland gives us their third 1st round pick (27) a 3rd, a 4th and a 6th or equivalent (assuming they have any in those rounds).

Maybe I'm a little slow. If they're not desperate, why move up?

Maybe we pull a stunner and draft Hockenson. Can never have too many TEs on the roster.
Nothing against Hock he looks legit but we cant keep spending high picks on TEs

Being that I'm working 12 hour night shifts, I won't have the pleasure of joining in all this fun :arghh

Having said that, I am a staunch proponent of trading down and acquiring one of the top O-Lineman.

There aren't many to choose from, so I think it's imperative Miami nabs one early. In fact, I would be quite happy with 2 out of our 1st 3 picks be of the O-Line variety.

Taylor seems to be a name associated with Miami but I think Freakville takes him.

With him being a Gator, he is tailor made for that team...

I think they try and trade down and grab more picks for this year and next year. Draft strategy should be to build the D-line and O-line this year when they do pick. Load up on picks and go all out in next years draft for the franchise QB.

Hoping for Ed Oliver.

If he's not there, trade down if possible. I would love TWO trade downs to get into the 20s and pick up a couple extra picks...and then hope that Dexter Lawrence is there. I believe he's going to be very good for a very long time, and would be very good for the Flores style of D.

On the record? Brian Burns. Off the record? Dwayne Haskins.

Oliver or Wilkins at 13.
Have to say I think Jeffery Simmons needs to be in there too. He's perfect, he's in that top 10 quality and sitting him out for the year (injury) fits perfectly into our plan to have even a better shot at getting into that QB draft position in 2020... I mean its perfect...Even trade back a few spots...Love to see Simmons lined up next year...
But all this is projections made without a tinge of idea of what the Coaches view is. Trade down and these 3 are gone maybe they pick up a CB like Greedy and start the build off a solid secondary...
Murray or Haskins there at 13, another no brainer.... A lot of options

Yeah. See, I'm of the opinion there is SO much D-Line talent in this draft that teams are going to be going for O-Line talent and the QBs early. As much as it pains me to say it, this draft lines up perfectly for Miami to really build the D for the future, if they DON'T take an O-Lineman early. If Haskins, Taylor, or Williams are there, they're going to have suitors for #13.

And if they trade down, yeah...there will be impact players on D at the end of the first round.

I'm going to guess we trade back. My hope is we trade our #13 for the Raiders 24 and 27, and pick OL (like Bradbury and Lindstrom) with the two. Instantly our OL is top 10.

But I think the reality is we will trade back and get a pick in the 20s, plus an extra 2nd rounder.

Maybe I'm a little slow. If they're not desperate, why move up?

They can afford to move up to assure they get a QB they really like without using up their 1st, 1st round pick to do it.

The Giants have two first round picks and the Raiders have three. Their QB situation is not desperate, but it is questionable. If they see a QB with the potential to be a replacement for their current QB in a year or two, why not get him now instead of relying on the vagaries of future drafts, and allow him to grow in their system before they play him. Think of this QB as a backup /replacement. If he doesn't work out, they are no worse off and they will still have had their best shot at a first round pick with their earliest pick.

I see their multiple 1st round pick situation as an opportunity for them to use the later of the 1st round picks as an opportunity to be more flexible in their selection instead of just the BPA, if their teams situation doesn't compel them to choose a non-QB position. It certainly beats using a later round draft pick to get a future QB.

Rashan Gary, but it should be Daniel Jones or Dwayne Haskins.

Honestly I have no idea, I don't watch college football, but football Christmas is almost here!!!
