Boo-hoo. Wilkins is one of, if not the safest pick in the draft. Over a quarterback what had everything given to him at Ohio State who played against bad defenses and threw against some of the worst secondaries in college football.

This was his only A+ pick? While I’m not much into these draft grades that does make me happy.

The Wilkins pick reminds me of the Daryl Gardner pick in 1996, though Gardner was a little more of a reach. JJ wanted to build the D from the inside out and Gardner was the foundation. It may be 1996 style drafting in a new quarterback era, but an inability to stop the run sucks the life out of a franchise.

Man you bring back the great days when Miami's D was NO JOKE!!!! Daryl Gardner and Tim Bowens in the middle, fuhgetboutit!!!! You could not run in the middle of our D.

BTW...Love the Wilkins pick. I was hoping to trade down (pick up another pick or two) and draft his teammate D. Lawrence. But this still is a GREAT pick. Now lets focus on the o-line during the next 2 out of our next 3 draft picks.

Sounds like the same argument people made against Baker Mayfield last year.

I have to admit that it is extremely strange to see guys who bombarded this forum with negative posts about our quarterback situation applaud picking interior lineman. It’s surreal

Lol! Come on you've been around long enough to know how this works.

Hopefully he won't have the back issues like Gardner shortening his career.

New coach, so people are going to be positive about any pick of a player who has legitimate first round talent. I think that in order to get people on this board to hate this move, the team would have had to pick a guy with a 5th round grade or a punter. Give it a year or two and then people will go back to being skeptical of Grier's drafting.
