Haskins

Remember that time we passed on Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan? Gotta draft em when they fall into your lap. And keep doing it until you get one...DT’s don’t win Super Bowls...
This is a lazy argument, at best. Every team passes on hall of fame players all the time. Every team has their share of draft busts. Every team has a fan base that thinks they know better than the front office and will second guess every draft pick. Why don't you just throw out "New England" would do better for every argument like everyone does around here? Because you would be wrong with their draft history over the past few years perhaps?

Being 31st against the run doesn’t win either lol. We are in a rebuild, we’ll get OUR QB before the 2020 season.

With all respect, this is a lazy argument, too. Every team misses and passes on HOF talent, that is true, but Miami has started at least 19 different failures at QB since Marino retired while missing on that talent. Certainly, some understanding is in order toward frustrated fans who believe addressing the QB in the first round is smarter than picking up safeties and DT’s when first round QB talent is on the board at their draft position.

There are several teams that may be in the market next year: Oakland, Denver, Miami, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, New England, Tampa, and Baltimore are just a few that spring to mind from the AFC alone. Some of these teams will be looking for a replacement for aging starters, and some are currently using journeyman, while Baltimore is experimenting with a project that I believe will bust next season. Still, just because someone drafted a QB this draft doesn’t preclude them picking a new QB in the first round next season, as AZ proved last night.

I cannot understand the smugness fans have that the QB of their dreams is just going to fall into their laps next draft.

People are just butt hurt cuz they thought Haskins was the guy that's who they wanted, out of those teams that you mentioned how many are.going to be that worse off next year than us. We are going to be a top 8 pick, we should be able to get one of the top three quarterbacks next year without having to give up a king's Ransom. It's all speculation right now who knows how next year's going to go however as of now in this draft there is not proving to be a quarterback that we really want it or we would have took them bottom line. And this damn generation it's so damn impatient we've been awful for years stay the course give it time for ****sake.
And this is coming from a huge Ohio State fan but Haskins wasn't there guy and I'm going to give Flores in the new staff time. This is these guys livelihood Xin careers you really think they're going to pass up on a quarterback that they think is going to be the face of the franchise that's just not who they wanted.

Patients is a virtue when selecting a QB. Look no further than what the New York Giants did by selecting Daniel Jones. They reached because they lost patients. IMHO Christian Wilkins will have a better overall career in comparison to Dwayne Haskins. Miami did the right thing.

You could even say their patients flatlined.

So how does Miami's 19 different QB's compare to the other teams in the league in the same timeframe?

I'm of the opinion we should have more than cellophane protecting our treasure case before we put the bling in.
Gotta forge the gauntlet before you
dare collect them infinity stones

Haskins is probably a good pick this year, Tua and some other QBs are probably great picks next year. So throwing out next year you would have a great point BUT taking next year into consideration your point is duly noted.

You guys sure have a lot of faith in our organization. "He wasn't their guy" "Have faith in the process" "It's part of the plan".

Blah, blah, blah. Grier has been GM since 2016 and prior to that, he was Director of Scounting from 2007-2015. He scouted Chalres Harris, Dallas Thomas, Jonathan Martin, DVP, and Dion Jordan and he stood by Tanny for the past couple years.

Sorry, I'm not onboard with simply hoping that we get a high pick next year with the assumption that the QB class is better. We had someone fall in our lap that had a 70% completion rate and threw 50 TDs. You have to take a chance on that guy. Plain and simple.

Lol stats.

Haskins can't do anything once he gets off his spot. In the NFL that's a recipe for disaster.

Haskins was so good that OSU was thinking of starting another QB this year, hence why he came out with only 1 year of starting experience.

If Haskins had 2-3 years of starting experience with roughly the same results maybe we take him at 13. But he didnt.

We made a smart choice.

Hard to understand peeps so upset about not grabbing the pillsbury doughboy.
