Detailed Film Study On Rosen’s Rookie Year

I'm skeptical that Rosen will fare better with the Dolphins in 2019, but I appreciate that you're posting some actual content with visual reference. I think a lot of people probably haven't even seen this kid play, since he was at UCLA and then last season with a dreadful Cards team that got no air time.

I will raise my hand. I watched very little of him in Arizona . . . .but his final year at UCLA I watched every one of his games.

Kids got real talent . . . And it is almost baffling to hear that he struggled so mightily in Arizona (often blaming him instead of what was around him) with many using the Tannehill narrative combined with the sack numbers . . . .and very little actual “watching of the game” . . . To back up their narrative.

Kid is every bit of Phillip Rivers IMO . . . .except for one key department . . . .There is valid concern about him as a leader of men and of him having internal attitude issues . . . .and that cannot be overlooked when you are talking a guy you expect to lead your franchise and your group of 53.

So despite the talent I think he has . . . .that potential lack of leadership trait is enough to sour me on him if it indeed is a factual one.

Truth be told, before Murray declared for football I heard nothing but positive energy with how Josh handled 2018.

We’ll see.

Excellent analysis, on the good, bad, and possible future of Rosen.

It amuses me that the majority criticizing Rosen are the same ones that made every excuse in the book for Tannehill and Hennehill

I've heard about the leadership issue coming out of college, but didn't hear anything resembling a complaint from one of his Arizona teammates. And I'll add that Rivers definitely has a reputation of getting under people's skin.

Amusingly, I think Rosen's 2018 season is a good comparison with Tannehill's 2012 season. Good prospect surrounded by a poor supporting cast, with a coaching staff that was in over its head. If anything, I think that the situation would be the opposite; people who slagged on Tannehill would be the first to trash Rosen.

We'll see. I would really like to see the team package some day three picks and bring him in here. Absolutely worth that shot. Compare him to Daniel Jones: Jones was drafted in the top ten yesterday and isn't even close to the throwing talent that Rosen is. And Rosen has shown that he can play the position well outside of just throwing it.

No question on Rivers, but his bravado and ****iness reflects more of a leadership style rather than lacking a leadership trait. He has always commanded respect of his peers on the team.

There seems to be a narrative that Josh doesn’t get that same level of respect tho. I dunno, he was a two time captain at UCLA and I watched him put that team on his back to keep them in games. Never even occured to me this was an issue.

My case also, I saw more of Rosen in College, then I did as Cardinal, there is talent there, just need the right people to help him.

As far as the comparison to Rivers, that is not a very bad comparison, but i will ho even further, because Rivers early on was sad to have a bit of additude, including having multiple hissy fits when he made a mistake. I brlieve Josh's so called attitude problem (Like Rivers) was just fustration of a very competive player, and if true, don't know if that is a bad thing.

Personally I do hope Miami can get Rosen for a 3rd or later, and that he can come close to being another Rivers, minus the Tude hopefully.

Rosen has definitely come off as a bit whiny during and after the draft process. He also seems like the kind of guy who has a silver spoon attitude. As much as I personally enjoyed his comments about Cleveland before the draft, that's absolutely the kind of comment indicative of an entitled attitude. I don't know what's going on in the Arizona locker room, so it's difficult for me to speculate, but I could believe that he has some leadership issues.

With that said, who cares? If he turns out to be a dumpster fire from a leadership standpoint, you're still holding the cards to draft a quarterback in 2020.

I am of the opinion that you want a QB with some swagger, especially if he has earned the right by being a good teammate and leader. I also think that trading him after a year will be a bit of a reality check and give him some humility. If the Dolphins don't give up too much for him, I say it may be worth taking a chance. But I would make sure that the coaching staff talks to him and figures out where his head is before pulling the trigger on it.

I watched Rosen probably more tha. most. I usually bet against the Cardinals and the moneyline so I kept one eye open for the cards games.

They looked bad from the coach on down...and I was pulling for Wilks. Rosen didn't stand a chance...David Johnson never had a chance. Thankfully, I passed on him in Yahoo.

you don't command respect, you earn it. Not a fan of silver spoon attitudes either in this day in age but for a Day 3 pick I would still do it.

I watched that clip last week.

He did a good job on there.

Rosen's stats were inline with most rookie QBs.

He was on a terrible team, bad coaching, horrible O-LINE play and bad play calling.

Just the fact that the new coach over there, who seems like a TREMENDOUS d*ck BTW....

is so eager to move on pretty much says it all.
