Pft - Miami Close To A Deal For Josh Rosen (merged)

Rosen just reminds me of Cutler too much for some reason...

I wasn't one who wanted to draft Haskins and glad they passed on him in the 1st round. This thread is about Josh Rosen last time I checked.
okay, then to your earlier question: who's to say that Falk's not better than Rosen? Just about every draft pundit there is! And some like McShay thought he was still worth a first this year.

Better?

So based on that, why don't the Dolphins just draft their own QB in the 3rd round instead of trading it for Rosen?

Because Rosen is way more talented with more upside than any other QB that will be available in the 3rd round this year. Figured that was obvious.

Arm talent is really important for a quarterback. No, you don't need to be able to throw an 80 yard bomb from your knees, but it's important to be able to deliver the football quickly, accurately, and with velocity from a variety of different throwing positions to a lot of different places on the field. And Rosen is simply a better thrower of the football than Luke Falk.

And you do realize there are QB's that go in the first round that turn out to be busts like Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell, Tim Couch, Akili Smith, etc.? Josh Rosen could be the next in line. Just because he was drafted in the 1st round last year doesn't mean he will be a good QB. I don't like the guy. He seems aloof and doesn't exhibit good leadership qualities. Reminds me of Jay Cutler in that regard. I don't want a guy like that on my team.

You mean like Russell Wilson who was drafted in the 3rd round or Dak Prescott who was drafted in the 4th round? Who is to say that Will Grier won't end up being a better QB than Josh Rosen?

Not that I'm going to compare Josh Rosen to Aaron Rodgers (2019), but that's also a guy who is aloof and often doesn't exhibit leadership qualities. And he is a great quarterback.

Strange discussion. You seem really dead set against this guy. I get if you don't like him, but the compensation being discussed for this trade is pretty minimal.

It amuses me to no end when people cry “He’s a douche, lets not trade a third round pick for the tenth overall player taken last year.” As if they know him personally

Rumor is that Belichick has his eye on Rosen also. Objectively speaking, that would be the best place for Josh to end up.. but hopefully we can prevent that from happening.

That would be our luck of course. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I'd take a shot on Rosen for the right price. Guys who weren't givin a fair shake seem to play extra motivated for their new team. Worked for Brees, Young and Farve.

So could Tua, Fromm, Herbert or Lawrence.. it's always a crapshoot... but with Rosen we get someone who's already had his baptism by fire.

So before this turns into a raging cluster****, I'll let you have the last word.. cuz I'm not changing your mind and you are sure not changing mine..

I would rather have them draft their own QB than take sloppy seconds from another team.

No one is confusing those two as prospects. Sounds like you won't get on board to trade for Rosen. I don't get why but whatever. It's low risk move.

Because maybe they feel a QB who's a year removed from a 1st round evaluation is worth the risk. Maybe they don't feel the QB's that have a 3rd round grade in this class are as good as Rosen.

But if the plan is to take a QB next year in round 1, which now has to be the plan, why not get a Olinemen in the 3rd and help fix the line before we get our QB.

The way I see it, its not even about the draft pick, it's the time that we will give Rosen to "figure it out" its Tannehill all over again. It would prob mean we dont take a QB high in 2020 and were stuck with Rosen for at least 3 seasons "giving him time to learn"

Is anyone else sick to death of phrases like the ones above in "" ?
