Who Do You Have For Day 2?

Have to get a physical guard. Jets and Bills both drafted dominant DT's and Miami has no one to match in the middle.

Brady - Russell Wilson - Brees - Montana etc. say otherwise.

That said, of course the % is better in R1 than R6. But it's still a projection
and I'd bet well over 50% of the QBs taken R1 eventually fizzle...
I mean the list is really, really long.

It's obviously very difficult to find a QB, regardless of where they're picked. So my counterpoint to this is when you have value available to you and you have a need you should be exploring it. Rosen is just talent meeting value meeting need. My initial point was for people who want a QB this year, find me a better option than Rosen on day 2. You won't find one. Then it comes down to whether you just want to tank and ride with Fitz for a season or get the best value QB option. I'm honestly fine with both avenues, numbers say taking either approach will probably net similar results, but the upside is much greater going with the latter.

If there's a 10% chance I can get a Phillip Rivers type guy for a 3rd or 4th round pick I'm going to take it.

I looked at this a while back, but I'm pretty sure it still holds that quarterbacks drafted in the first round have a much better chance of being Super Bowl MVPs, All-Pro, or Pro Bowl nominees. For quarterbacks drafted first overall, obviously the odds are much better.

Really? Because I keep seeing the same 6th rnd QB in the Superbowl year after year after year....

See that's your opinion..

No, it is not an opinion. It has to do with Rosen, who he is as a QB coming out of college. Those are facts.
Rosen has no elite traits. Nothing. Not an elite runner and his arm is not elite, it okay. He is not elite in anything.
Rosen in college had 62.6% completion rate in last season. That's not good, that's not elite.
He took a sack every 17.5 attempts, too many sacks, he is indecisive!
Rosen scored a TD every 17.5 attempts. He is not a scorer.
All that, lack of scoring, too many sacks, low completions, resulted in a depressing performance!
And he is not a winner, he is not a QB who can will his team to a win. He did not do that in college. He cannot do it.

A QB like that who is not elite in any respect and performs poorly needs 3 years to smooth out his game from the bench, without any expectations, before he can see the field! His rookie contract will be a waste to team. We know that.

Perspective, there are a ton of backup quarterbacks better than Josh Rosen in the NFL. Just a few: Jeff Driskel. Blake Bortles, Brandon Allen, there is a bunch. They perform better!

The new staff has defined their #1 top priority in terms of quality for QB -- and it's leadership!
That said, if the same staff does not see that quality in Rosen then they should pass regardless
of the supposed value. They have clearly articulated their position relative to "make up" and
it would be a mockery if they violated that right out of the gate...

They have a plan and a process to get there and it's going to take some time -- certainly more than
1 draft and probably more than 2.

As far as the bottom line results -- it's WAY TOO EARLY to make even a WAG (wild as$ guess)!

Brady is the exception to the rule. No one saw this coming, including Belichick. 6th rounders are guys that could develop into decent back ups, not 6 time Super Bowl winners.

Well they're talking to them a lot from the sounds of it. That's what is spurning the discussion more than our need for a QB. Them passing on Haskins tells us everything we need to know about how desperate they really are for a QB in 2019. End of the day, a late day 2/day 3 pick won't make or break this process and I think most solid front offices should take value when it's there. If they don't like Rosen totally fair and don't make the move.

Rosen is already certified "damaged goods" and that means his value is way off from his #1 pick just last season.
The kid came into the league with a number of (at least potential) flags so I'm sure we're doing out our diligence
to determine if (???) he's even a potential "FIT" -- and if so -- what value we're willing to offer.

Me personally -- I hope we stay away.

First of all, they don't. They're being given more than a year to evaluate them, which should be done with Rosen considering the dumpster fire he was put in. I'll give him that extra year of evaluation for a mid-round pick, you won't, that's basically it.

Rosen reminds me of a poor mans Cutler, No Thanks! I'd rather take Lock or Grier if we're picking a QB this year.

There is nothing to evaluate with Rosen. He is not a worth playing time, intrinsically, Rosen cannot play! That's one fact.
The second fact is you like Chris Grier want to fk around, want to waste picks year after year. That is the second part of the idiocy. The dereliction of duty.

Here is another example. Jameis Winston was picked #1 overall in 2015. Jameis Winston was a garbage quarterback on draft day, we knew that, he should never have been drafted, his value was UDFA. But some idiot decided Jameis was worth #1 overall pick.

Jameis had 26 attempts per pick in last season in college, he was a horrific decision maker, and could not score, threw a TD pass every 18.5 attempts. All that made him a depressing quarterback. And wouldn't you know it. He did nothing in his first four years in the league, he is garbage. A waste of time.
The idiot who picked Jameis Winston is fkn around, wasting years, picking and playing garbage.

Next year, in 2016, Rams selected Jared Goff #1 overall. Jared Goff unlike Winston was consistent and efficient. He is a great decision maker, throwing a pick every 41 attempts instead of 26, and throwing a TD every 12 attempts instead of 19. HE is gamer, a great quarterback. And wouldn't you know it, he took the team to playoffs on rookie contract and competed for the SB. You know why? Beacuse Goff is great, and Winston is garbage, and it has nothing to do with opinion, it has to do with who they are as quarterbacks, and nothing will change that.

Bottom line when it comes to Rosen, let's leave the decision to the idiots running the team. The best we can do is drag their name and reputation through mud, and we should do it daily.

Offensive lineman. That's it. We need to open holes for our backs and give our qb time to throw.
