Pft - Miami Close To A Deal For Josh Rosen (merged)

osh Rosen QB, Arizona Cardinals
ProFootballTalk on NBC Sports reports the Dolphins are "close" to acquiring QB Josh Rosen from the Cardinals.

With the Giants and Redskins both out of the running, the Dolphins quickly became the front-runners for Rosen, who became expendable when Arizona drafted Kliff Kingsbury favorite Kyler Murray first overall on Thursday night. Assuming the deal comes to fruition, the Cardinals will receive Miami's second-rounder (48th overall) in exchange for Rosen. With little leverage and an unhappy Rosen threatening to become a locker-room distraction (he unfollowed the team on social media Friday), the Cardinals did well to get back a second-rounder for the former UCLA standout. Meanwhile the rebuilding Fins appear to have finally turned the page on the ill-fated Ryan Tannehill Era by installing Rosen as their new franchise signal-caller. The 22-year-old labored through a difficult rookie campaign in Arizona but was poorly coached and had minimal weapons at his disposal. Ultimately we think he'll benefit from a change of scenery.

Though I want Rosen, for a 2nd is not making me giddy all over.

I've read that Belicheat likes Rosen; also I wouldn't be surprised if SD has an interest and MN, hedging their bets.. maybe even Elway.

Good. Let 'em take him.

If he lands in Miami for an R2 there will be a revolt!

So basically it’s a one year audition for you with a possible top 50 pick asset being the price.

Seems pricy to me but I guess I get it. I’d get it more if they invested in tbe o line

Fitz though grabs damn pine.

... especially with a QB with concussion concerns- what could go wrong..

Most on here probably are against a 2nd because they'll have to wait that much longer to see who the Fins pick tonight:munch:

i liked Rosen coming out of college quite a bit.

But it is hard to get the taste of his performance in Zona out of my mouth.

Sure they were terrible but a quality QB should have done more than he did there.

#48 seems to high to me unless they get a pick back.

I would stay the course and wait until next year to draft a qb high in round 1.

I like at least 3 of the guys who will be there more than Rosen.

If they make this trade pretty obvious fitz came here with no guarantees on anything in 2019 other than his salary lol

I wouldn't give up even a 7th round pick for Rosen because that's how much I think of him, but if they managed to give up their #2 for a guy who has one year less on his contract and was completely terrible last year regardless of how many excuses people want to make for him, it speaks to the level of incompetence of the front office that they would even consider this.
Josh Rosen’s first start of his career was the best by rookie so far in 2018

The Arizona Cardinals Josh Rosen has the best game by a rookie QB this season according to Pro Football Focus.

Oh FH.
The same people who gave our last "franchise" QB 7 years and more to reach that unlimited ceiling are willing to toss the towel on a top 10 pick after one year in a cluster **** system named Arizona Cardinals. Brilliant.

I prefer a 3rd round pick but if it requires a 2nd rounder to hold off a team like NE (or any other team with the luxury of multiple 2nd round picks) I grab on to that opportunity.

Most here are just concerned that the wet dream "tanking" will be tossed aside. But it's OK. Instead of bitching about any win we might get which will take us away from "tanking" you guys can get the immediate "world burns to the ground" feeling. You can just bitch and moan all offseason about Rosen and our awful FO and horrible coach and how you would have done it all better.

If I am the Dolphins and I have the opportunity at a potential franchise QB for a 2nd rounder I'll do it.

ESPN just reported that the Dolphins and Arizona have not had discussions since yesterday.
Deal is not close.
False rumors on here.
How unusual!
Imagine all these "rumors" start to heat up as we get closer to draft time. It'll go on until the Fins pick. Deal close, deal not close, deal close, deal not close. It's so obvious.

Breer and Darlington are skeptical of this. Darlington emphasized Miami has done a good job sticking with their plan and this would deviate from it. Keep in mind teams float info to better position themselves. Hard to believe any reports until something actually happens.
