Pft - Miami Close To A Deal For Josh Rosen (merged)

If so, is this a good thing?

I gotta be honest, other than the somebodies I don’t really pay much attention to non Miami guys. So I haven’t followed him. At all. I heard he had a rough rookie season, not surprising considering where he was.

So. We’re giving a 3rd for him (general consensus in this hypothetical). Maybe a 4th.

Is this a good idea? Or should we keep our picks, roll with Fitz, and get our guy a year from now?

I’d like to see us keep (or trade down and improve) the picks we have. But that’s just me.

What do you all reckon?
I’m thinking we trade for him AND draft a first round QB next year.

Crazy what a difference a year makes. No one would believe that Rosen would be available for a 2nd round pick a year ago from today.

Agree 100 percent!
Plus just think finheaven can be split again on another qb! Win Win for those bitching.
They will always be split. The online community was split on QBs since the Fiedler years. It will never change. Some think we have the greatest QB ever, some think we have the biggest garbage pile. Heck, even some Patriots fans question Brady when he is in a slump.

Id be happy with it. Rosen is not as bad as most people think.
Cardinals were garbage last year and it wasn't Rosen's fault.

And watch....if he comes here they'll give him #17.....just what we need after 7 long, ineffective, soul crushing years watching another with that number "lead" our team.
enough already...

If we do this, then Grier and Flores better pray Rosen is Brett Favre 2.0 or Steve Young 2.0 or something like that.

The point is that we need a qb and rather than put ALL of our eggs in next years draft class, we our giving ourselves more possibilities to find that guy.

Yes we need a QB. But we also need help at a lot of other positions too. Fitzpatrick can hold the fort down for one season and then you can try and get your franchise QB next year.

Of course if it fits the narrative of those who think they are talent evaluators. My point is I bet there will be just as many successful 3rd rounders this year as 2nd rounders in the range of 48-78. Could be 2 or could be 20. But it will be closer to equal than not.
There’s a significant difference in the talent level of the players available at 48 and the ones at 78.
