Pft - Miami Close To A Deal For Josh Rosen (merged)

Yeah he didnt try to do it. He was just bad enough to do it. Im not sure which is worse. But hes coming to a loaded miami team so im sure he will flourish.
I am not sure about being loaded but we are not chopped liver on offense. We can pick up some OL in the later rounds and in the UDFA pool but otherwise I am sure QBs wouldn't mind throwing the pigskin to Wilson, Grant and Stills or handing it off to Drake. Who knows maybe even Parker will do something with his last chance.

This would be a great move, he’s heads and tails better than anyone in the draft this year.

What revolt?

Any positives in aquiring Rosen?? What good things, if any, does he bring to the table? Curious.

Rosen is a lateral move in my opinion from Tannehill. Except Tannehill had a chin.
If Rosen is a lateral move from Tannehill you just admitted that either Tannehill was a 2nd round talent (if we get Rosen for 2nd rounder) or that Rosen is a steal at #48. Unless of course a chin is worth 40 draft spots.

If we do this, then Grier and Flores better pray Rosen is Brett Favre 2.0 or Steve Young 2.0 or something like that.

To be fair, any team would want that from their QBs. HOF QB, yes please .

I’m thinking we trade for him AND draft a first round QB next year.

If the plan is to draft a QB in the 1st round in 2020, then it makes no sense to trade for Josh Rosen now. It would be another Arizona situation all over again. Just let Fitzpatrick be the QB this season and draft your potential franchise QB next year.

I'm going out on a limb here and say nothing will happen until the Fins are on the clock.

If the guy(s) they like are available, they keep the pick, if their guys are already off the board, they send it to Arizona.

IF we end up with Rosen, we need to shift gears and double down on Oline.

One thing that I don’t see being asked is whether the Dolphins new found interest in Rosen has anything to do with Reggie MacKenzie.

I dont think Rosen is worth a 2nd rounder or a 3rd. And Tannehill was not worth the last 7 years due to his over inflated draft status that led to him never being challenged.

The lateral move is, both (QBs) will and can make a living in the NFL. It just won't be at a high level of play, with a million built in excuses for their shortcomings.

The 2nd round price never made much sense, I'm glad that appears to be posturing. The Cardinals really have very little leverage. 2nd round investment is just a very significant piece, just throwing that in hurts your team short-term and if Rosen flames out you've burned a likely top 5 pick and a 2nd rounder on QB. Couple that with the fact that you have setup Rosen for failure with an abomination of an OL, you might not learn what you need to know from your 1 year trial.

In an ideal world I'd want them to grab an OL with this next pick, give up a 4 and maybe a future late rounder if you have to give up a pick this year. That way you get the top 100 picks you need to help the team and you give Rosen more to work with so you can draw a conclusion on him.

The teams are definitely engaged. I'm hoping for a 2020 3rd rounder which we'll likely replace with a comp pick anyway. I think that's realistic and keeps our 2019 assets to field a competitive unit. Hoping we nab Erik McCoy with our 2nd rounder to counter these interior DL's in the division.
