Some Thoughts On Rosen

Some QB’s have “IT” and some don’t. Rosen doesn’t. His reputation for being stand offish and reports of poor leadership skills reminds me so much of Jay Cutler. His film Is also similar to Smoking Jay- occasional great throws, mixed in with inconsistency and bad decisions.

I would rather take a flyer on a mid to late round pick this year, and/or wait until 2020 than to appoint Cutler Jr as the face of our franchise

We don't know if that reputation is well deserved and whether he actually has it among the people that count. From all accounts that wasn't an issue in Arizona.

I think having him sit and learn behind Fitz is good for sure. Fitz has been all over the league and knows all of the playbooks lol. I’m definitely liking the Rosen move.

So now you want to invest a 2nd rd pick and sit him?

There were rumors that the Pats liked Rosen as a prospect last year. Lot of those guys are here now.

They saw the Pats draft board last year. They know what Bellicheck has him ranked as.

The interest for Rosen doesn’t surprise me one bit.

Aaron Rodgers supposedly has poor leadership qualities along with being a gigantic douchebag. He's done alright for himself.
So you are saying Rosen is on Aaron Rodgers level? Please expound.

Every QB with a little attitude being compared to Jay Cutler is annoying. I don't think he struggled in Arizona because he has opinions. He struggled because he was a rookie QB with no O-line, no weapons, and no coaching. He was thrown into the wolves. He could be a head case, but it could also be a media narrative. Let's say he does pan out, I don't care if he's a douche if he's playing well. It's not like Marino was a nice guy. I know Marino had more leadership qualities, but Rosen can develop them over time or might have them given the chance. He's only been in the league for 1 year.

We don't take kindly to common sense round these here parts.

Nope just saying being a douchebag with little or no leadership qualities doesn't mean you can't succeed.
Fair. Folks will over look douche like behavior when you have the talent, not sure Rosen has the skills....

I liked Rosen last year and I still do. The reason I wouldn't trade a 2nd rounder is because Arizona is the one with no leverage. We don't need to cater to their demands or give them the edge in the trade. We are the ones with nothing to lose.

I don't want to give a second either but there are rumors the Patriots may be interested so there is maybe competition.

With minimal to no changes in an OL with gaping problems, you can swap A for B for C. The same outcome is going to unfold.

We are literally about to do the exact same thing the Cardinals did last year in leveraging for a mediocre QB with the thought that "well if he doesn't work we can draft another top QB next year".

The problem is, two years of mediocre to **** play and Rosens chip value will be gone and we will be left holding the bag.
You have no clue if he is a mediocre QB or not. I don't. Again: we are not drafting him in the top 10. We are possibly trading for him at 48. You guys act like we are selling the house for him.

In regard to OL: you will have to get used that we do not make big jumps in FA or even the draft when it comes to OL. Flores comes from NE. OL was always a priority for them but when you go through the years you will see that most of their OLs came from late rounds, UDFA and other team's garbage pile.

They were extremely successful in plugging in "substandard" OL players and make them fit for the system. Coaching will be of utmost importance.
