Pft - Miami Close To A Deal For Josh Rosen (merged)

If they would trade for Rosen not sure how that would deviate from their plans. A franchise QB is and was in their plans either in 2019 or 2012. If they feel Rosen fits that bill and they can get a franchise QB for a 2nd or 3rd than that is right in their plan.
The only ones saying it deviates from their plan is those who simply disagree with a possible trade.
The plan includes guys that put the team before themselves. Guys committed to doing whatever it takes to make the team better. Rosen doesn’t fit that. Tremendous talent but lacks the intangibles they said they want from their players.

Well here's the thing, if they do trade for Rosen, and he isn't immediately the presumed starter going in, then they've made a potentially great strategic move and then squandered it immediately.

Exactly. We'd be fools to trade for Rosen and not roll him out there week one.

No point in bailing out the Cardinals.

If Miami is the only one talking to the Cards, why bid against ourselves? Sit tight with a 3rd or 4th offer. Otherwise screw AZ.

Why are we assuming Miami is the only ones in this?

Heck if that’s the case wait for him to be cut. That won’t happen someone will trade for that kid. This is not a valueless asset

Wouldn’t surprise me if over two thirds the league had his grade as a prospect higher than anyone in this class except maybe Murray.

If the goal is to tank then we shouldn’t be trading a 2nd round pick (when we only have one) for a QB like Rosen. Especially when the team trading him has no leverage.

Now if the goal isn’t to tank and you want your QB now how in the **** do you pass on Haskins and think Rosen is the answer? You take Haskins and then maybe package the 2nd rounder with a couple other picks this year to move up and take an OL. Or stay pat and take BPA.

IMO Haskins and BPA(2nd RD) is better than Wilkins and Rosen.

Imbeciles for trading him or for the way that they’ve handled it?

What would you offer best and final?
Last year the Cards signed Bradford, Glennon and gave up 3 picks to get to Rosen. They handled it poorly prior to last night. They have zero leverage yet Miami will pull a Miami and give them a second.

I think obviously if the asking price drops to something like a 7th round pick, there will be teams lining up. But Miami is the only team that's rumored to offer something like a third round pick, I suppose. I haven't heard of any other teams being interested in the day two pick range.

Yep, been listening all day. They just crushed Steve Keim and wondered how he still has a job.

I guess on the bright side Rosen will probably win us less games than Fitzpatrick....

Ok so miami is the only one offering a day 2 pick supposedly. That shocks me unless the kid really is a douche bag

I just cant believe this thread is this long based on pure speculation. There are just as many sources saying this is not a done deal as there is saying it is.
It's just like the people who trash the team when they are down in the second quarter of a game. And then they turn around and win and you never hear from them.
Wait till you know all the facts before jumping off a bridge.
Take a deep breadth.

I'm all in on bringing Rosen to Davie but would have preferred a 3rd rounder. It is possible that we had to beat another offer, like maybe from Belichick which would have a bearing on the price.

edit: if it's not been mentioned yet, Rosen has already unfollowed the Cardinals on twitter and IG this morning.

That, right there, is why I hope the deal falls through. I would want him to react like a man, not like some butt hurt little boy. I would want someone that would accept a fight for the quarterback job in Zona- not take his ball and go home!!! God, I dont want this baby on my team.
