Pft - Miami Close To A Deal For Josh Rosen (merged)

I am pretty sure the Dolphins did their due dilligence when researching Rosen. There is absolutely no report of him being a selfish player in Arizona. The players their love him.

You cannot base his intangibles (or lack thereof) on his first year in Arizona. Kingsbury came in and hated on the coach and Rosen from the get-go. Rosen never had a chance neither had the HC.

We are not trading a 1st round pick. We are trading a 2nd round pick for a top 10 pick nobody in this league has a clue - NOBODY - how he will turn out.
In a worst case scenario he does not turn out to be a starter and we draft a QB next year and keep Rosen as a backup. This trade is a no risk but potential big reward trade.

Flores comes from a team environment where team comes first. They researched Rosen last year and this year. I am pretty sure if there are red flags that he is not a team player they would not even consider him.

Yet if you think AZ is going to have to blink and you can get him for a 3 or a 4, wouldnt that be better? What is AZ's leverage here?

It’s qb. It trumps all.

I get that we want to buy low here or not at all. But it is qb. And it trumps all

But it doesn't trump all if the QB is bad. That doesn't help at all.

i'm no expert so who knows, but just get the feeling that at best rosen will end up as mid tier qb. Not a guy who can win championships. I thought the who whole point of tearing it all down was to do it right. Unless you really believe in Rosen as next qb to lead dolphins to championship, a 2nd round pick is just a waste. so many 1st round bust qbs over the years. Rosen has shown no indication of bucking that trend. I thought a 3rd would be crap a few days ago.....

If the goal is to tank then we shouldn’t be trading a 2nd round pick (when we only have one) for a QB like Rosen. Especially when the team trading him has no leverage.

Now if the goal isn’t to tank and you want your QB now how in the **** do you pass on Haskins and think Rosen is the answer? You take Haskins and then maybe package the 2nd rounder with a couple other picks this year to move up and take an OL. Or stay pat and take BPA.

IMO Haskins and BPA(2nd RD) is better than Wilkins and Rosen.

Because Haskins is going to be a bust...Rosen is a near-bust.

Dolphins need to trade both those 7ths and try to move up for another 3rd round pick tonight

But what is the opportunity cost? Who else could we have drafted at another position of need w/ the pick we give up for Rosen?

I mean the opportunity cost would depend on the pick we give up should we move forward with his acquisition. There's no guarantee of Rosen thriving here anymore than if we simply drafted a position of need. Either way we're taking a chance on a position of need.

Keep the 2nd rd pick for an OL starter, preferably McCoy....Then pick up a stud WR in the 4th+ rds.

I think our upside to Rosen defeats the downside of AZ's first year with him.

I remember a TON of people on here wanting Rosen last year because there was speculation that Tannehill was going to be traded.

This team will not be competing for a division title for at least 2-3 years IF a rebuild is done through the draft and SMART free agency moves.

Look at who we have right now for QB. I don't see an upgrade over Tannehill imo. Rosen would be because he has ONLY played quarterback and he will be on the cheap. Remember too, that there will be a shartload of FA players after June 1st as well.

Come on, people. Rebuilding is painful, but not as painful as ashtrays being one player away from......etc.

At this point, it's a 4th or nothing. Tannehill got a damn 4th rd a yr later. I've soured on a 3rd, cause of Murray being the guy now.

Diminished values. 4th or nothing

I am ok with trading any of our WRs if it means it helps land a real future building block.

Not that I think your proposal is a serious one. Maybe a 3 and Stills.

I hope we wait until our pick, see if Lock is still there if he is pull the trigger and get out of this Rosen soap opera. If he's gone then take the BPA or Trade back then offer the Cards a third in a take it or leave it, or package a player as you suggest. We simply shouldn't give up our 2nd rounder, way too much talent still on the board, total lack of competition and too many questions on Rosen for that to make any sense.

Ill reserve judgement until the deal becomes official. Until then I don't believe anything I hear during draft weekend. We could be assisting the Cardinals in driving up the price for Rosen. Sure it doesnt make sense and how would it benefit Miami? But could just be a ridiculous smoke signal that also doesn't make sense. Now it feels like I'm grasping for straws at the idea of such an asinine trade. I'm sinking.......so much for reserving judgement. I feel like my wife right now. Jesus take the wheel.

Makes to much sense!

I'm literally blown away by the growing Rosen tribe on this board.

Ya know the really twisted funny thing is -- we bring this kid in and start him day one and
we'll have the #1 pick for sure 2020! And then -- guess what? Rosen will be in the recycle
bin again!

Lock will most likely not be available when our selection comes around.

Rosen's immaturity is a real issue, he proved it again today; when he unfollowed the Cardinals on social media. I agree with everything Steve Smith said on NFLN. The kid is a cancer and certainly not a leader. But a talented kid. Just say NOOOOOO!!!
