Welcome To Miami Josh Rosen

We need some positivity around here, this was such a no brainer for us and a low risk move. And everyone should be excited about this. Low risk and high reward move.

It also gives me something to actually watch in 2019 season. We all will be evaluating Rosen and if he struggles then no doubt we go QB in 2020 1st round.

Several commentator and media outlets have already said Rosen may be in similar situation next year at this time... Meaning we aren't hitching our wagon to Rosen, so all you Nancys can calm down about that if you were really wanting to get that #1 pick.

Asit turns out this thread is a very accurate welcome to Miami for a QB.

Hey Ray. The Cards got the Phins 2nd round pick and next year's fifth and the Dolphins got nothing.

....but really, they got an additional second round pick in 2020 as well. Let's not pretend the trade back wasn't part of the plan, just to make things look worse to fit your narrative.

The Phins deferred their 2nd round pick until next year, and gave a 5th for the 10th overall pick in last years draft.

Out-fugging-standing.

I loved the trade back they were in perfect position to keep rolling. Unfortunately they had an assenine plan in mind instead.

Yes, giving up a 5th for a POTENTIAL franchise quarterback (possibly better than any QB in this draft) is "assenine", but I bet if we'd had spent that 5th on some no-name QB with "upside" you'd be happy as a clam, wouldn't you?

I honestly don't know why I even bother.

Despite evidence to the contrary, you hold out some faint hope in mankind.

The trade with NO did not have to be tied to giving away our second round pick. I'll be happy as a clam to get a QB that led GA to the division championship as a freshman or a cant miss Tua... any of the top 3 rated QB's next year. I think Grier could have made the 62nd pick and still got Rosen. There was a lot of desperation in the statement the Cards made after the trade, Phins were holding all the cards. Next year's QB class is a better crop of talent. Look at Rosen's measurables and 40 time etc and compare it to Tua or Fromm.

Welcome aboard, Josh! Looking forward to seeing you in a Miami Dolphins uniforms - stay grounded, work hard, and absorb everything coaches throw at you. A change of scenery can do wonders.

I was initially not fond of it as I wanted nothing higher than a third if they got him. But the reality is that they got another 2nd rd pick next year in their trade down and loading up for next years in case they have to trade up for players. And the salary for Rosen is very friendly for miami, in case he doesn't pan out they can let him go and still try next year for a qb and didn't give that much up.

It's a second rd, but don't forget it's a very late 2nd rd pick. They gave up their pick that they traded down, but was #62, and was only two spots from the last pick in the 2nd rd. I see it really as a high 3rd rd based on talent and it gave what Cardinals wanted and what miami wanted which was Rosen without giving up a 2nd rd pick as in high or middle pick which miami didn't want. So it was like a compromise move for both teams. Miami didn't want to give a 2nd that was high or mid range and Cardinals didn't want to give up lower than a 2nd. Cardinals technically got their 2nd from miami and miami gave a 2nd pick they had that was 3 spots from beginning of first 3rd rd pick.

You're now the man! Prove yourself a solid quarterback in aqua and orange.

I hope he comes to Miami, ANGRY

I'd love to see him focus all his rage on the Cardinals disrespecting him & blowing sh*t up in the NFL this upcoming season.

I think it's a good trade especially considering the made-up 2nd pick we got in 2020.

It'll be exciting to see how he plays and the new coach deals with that

I'm tickled shi.tless with this move.
Technically we got Minka Fitzpatrick and Rosen for a 5th next year. Arizona traded up and snagged him before we drafted last year. He could have very well been our 2018 1st round pick. We win huge on this deal.

Dudes a baller, everyone will see.

Hey Sherif, I take it you don't hold our new QB in high regard.

At this point I have no favorites and hope the new coaching staff can get some performance from any of the QB's we now have on the team.

We will never know if we have the QB we need until we see results on the field, so I'm willing to give the coaches a chance to find one they like and time to develop them.
Right now, I am more interested in seeing how many offensive linemen we bring into camp via the draft or free agency. I was watching the draft on TV and was astonished at all the crazy people who were attending the draft. I'm glad I'm one of the more rational fans who stays home and only complains when I find posters who disagree with me and by default, don't know what they are talking about.

I guess that makes me as crazy as they are!

The Rosen trade feels like we gave Arizona a 5 dollar bill in exchange for a 2 dollar bill, only its ripped down the middle.
