Dude, this draft is complete garbage. The Phins got three UDFA values in first three rounds.
This team is not even competitive on draft day, in spite of so many idiot GMs participating. We are in the 30s of 32 after these 2 days.

Love Wilkins
Really like Deiter
Wait and see on Rosen......he was in a bad situation last year but he's coming to a bad situation here too.

I gave them a B+ but we'll see what happens today.

I give them a B+

- Love the Wilkins and Dieter picks. I know some people thought Wilkins value was probably a bit later in the first, but he is a safe pick that will contribute for years to come. I won't get judgey about a high floor pick at a critical NFL position like that in the middle of the first round. Dieter might not be physically elite, but he knows how to play, and has as much versatility on the line as you can. He will find a home as a starter.

- Love the maneuvering to pick up an extra 2nd in 2020. I'm very happy to see that Grier has a mind to pick up extra picks. The 2020 off-season is going to be a ton of fun. We are actually in really good shape cap wise for the first time in years, and I don't recall us ever having this much draft capital. Maybe 1997 when we had 4 3rd round picks.

- I'm lukewarm on the Rosen trade. I was never opposed to trading for him at the right price, and before the draft I was firmly in the camp that I didn't want to give up a 2nd, but would have been content giving up a 3rd and ecstatic with anything less than that. We did have the leverage. And i wish we had held out for a better deal than we got. Our maneuvering to get the extra 2020 2nd was independent of the Rosen trade so I don't consider all of it part of the Rosen deal. The fact of the matter is we actually paid a 2nd and a 2020 5th for him. Too much for me. I read a report last night that they gave us a 5th, and not the oterh way around. I went to bed thinking that and was content. Waking up and seeing we gave them a late 2nd and a 2020 5th has me a shade disappointed. But any young QB is a gamble from the number one overall pick all the way down to the last QB drafted, including a guy like Rosen who has talent, and one bad year under his belt. And a gamble isn't all risk. There is the promise of a possible return, and Rosen has a high upside. Worst case, he is likely our backup for a few years. Best case? He is our starting QB, and we head into 2020 with all that capital (draft and cap space) and DON'T have to fill the most important and expensive slot on the roster. The roster would be totally reshaped going into the 2020 season. Now they just have to get that right..... (disclaimer: they have some nice pieces they have started that process with)

I'm in the A camp. I was a little concerned about trading 2-48 for Rosen, then we traded down and got him with 2-62. Nice move. Wilkins was a great pick and Dieter is a solid good value - probably a starting LG.

I thought a second was too high, but a second and a fifth! I didn’t think we would have given up anything under a third unless it was a second and they give us their fifth. But it is what it is. I think we still need to draft a QB in the first round next year.

Grier knocked this MF out the goddamn park. Are you kidding me??

Rosen isn't everyone's choice at QB but damn if anyone can make a case that he is complete garbage. Bringing Fitz in and now Rosen were smart moves. Gotta believe Rosen has a huge chip on his shoulder and that free rental with the Cardinals might be all the experience he needed to realize what it takes to succeed at this level.

A+++ so far. Looking forward to training camp already!!

Gave it a B+ for the maneuvering and for acquiring Rosen for a really reasonable price. The + is for Deiter, who I never got back around to properly evaluating but who has the support of some smart folks.

I don't like the Wilkins pick. I just don't see the sense in it, and I outlined the reasoning in my Sideways Board thread on the Draft Forum. Rosen would be in a much better situation with Lindstrom or Dillard than Wilkins, who obviously doesn't move the needle for the QB situation. Moreover, either in conjunction with Deiter would have moved Miami much closer to solidifying the OL for 2020, where I still expect them to draft a QB in RD1, giving them more picks to spend on a crazy-talented WR group.
Great draft posting j-doll-
My question- would we have been better off:
Wilkins - McCoy (48) - Tradeup for Winovich - Retain 4th Rd pick.
3 high end starters
Build OL for 2020 QB...

So that’s why we gave up our second. Ok I’m feeling a little better about the trade.

I think they trade for Rosen should have been for a third, nothing more. The Cards had nowhere else to go, and I don't believe they wanted to keep Rosen there. That would have been a bad situation. I liked the other two pics and the trade down w/ the Saints ...…… B

the money was probably key.

but we gave up our second for the saints second this year and next year.

then used #62 (the round ends at 64) for rosen.

yes, we gave up a (very) late 2nd and a 5th, but in context got back the second next year (when we might need it most).

and hey, if the saints fall on hard times, that 2nd could be in the top half of the round next year.

even if the saints win the super bowl, getting that pick from them next year makes this whole thing make sense to me.

Wilkins---- Great Pick, Like everything about it

Rosen and 2020 2nd Rd---- Gave up a 2nd, 4th, and 2020 5th, who knows how he'll be, but my initial feeling is that he reminds me too much of Tannenhill

Dieter---- Need all the help we can get on the oline

So for the 1st 3 rounds of this draft I say "C"

Rosen is great at pocket presence and footwork. That isn't Tannehill like
