“cardinals Suckered Themselves In How They Handled Process Of Trading Josh Rosen”

Getting that second next year by trading down was the cherry on top. When's the last time you've seen us play something this smart? Maybe the tides are finally changing for us. Maybe, just maybe, it really was Gase and Tannenbaum pulling the strings. Grier seems to have his act together this draft.
I would like to know how much Reggie McKenzie played in this.

Most people mad about trading for Rosen in the second would have been in love with drafting him at 11 last year. Claiming the QB whisperer Gase got his guy. This trade has a tremendous upside. The Cardinals are one of the few franchise run worse than the Dolphins have been. The staff the assembled last year was so bad they believe Cliff Kingsbury is an upgrade. The staff would have made Tom Brady look like ****.

I like Mayock too, but it's a lot different when you are actually making the pick rather than mocking a pick. You mock pics wrong, everyone forgets by next year what you said. You draft wrong, everyone notices and you're outta a job in 2 years.

The bottom line to all this is if Rosen catches fire here and becomes "the guy" then getting him was priceless, forget about what the value calculations were. If not, then we got screwed taking a chance....better than playing it safe and scared of making moves like we normally do.

Once we traded down 48 to 62 it was very obvious we were discounting the R2
for Rosen and (rather brilliant IMO) calming the dedicated fan base by landing the
deferred 2nd 2020 -- so in effect we landed Rosen for some mid round specs in real terms.

Of course the bummer is we missed McCoy @C and then those Cheaters grabbed Winovich
1 freaking slot in front of us! Beyond that -- not pretending to be a pro evaluator but I thought
there were better OL choices on the board than Deiter -- specifically the USC OT Chuma Edoga.
But what do I know...

Another obvious point is we're building from the inside out and I hope we stay the course
and add best avail IOL R5 and not get too cute trying to snag a "super sleeper" project type.
We need meat and potatoes first...

Last, I can't say I'm excited or overly optimistic RE Rosen but it sure seems the team
conducted significant due diligence on him and therefore must believe his rookie season
was not indicative of his PRO potential -- and even more important -- I assume they believe
his "leadership" issues are either overblown or resolvable.

Not gonna be a hypocrite and trash the dude any further until he's given an honest chance
to demonstrate some chops and prove the decision was a good one. But my expectations
are tempered by the fact he was available and it seems we were the only team in any
serious negotiation. So even with the deferred R2 (which really takes the sting out of
this for me) I think we had more leverage than we used.

We'll see how it turns out.
