No QB can be judged while running his life game after game.

The hits destroy them, they get happy feet and check down just to keep their body alive. Which just leads to more hits on the 3rd and long.

David Carr was destroyed in his first year due to the hits he took

Look at Derek Carr, with protection and without protection (Gruden arrival).

Football has always boiled down to BLOCKING, TACKLING and doing your assignment. If its done right your QB can actually do his assignment, if done wrong....well the NFL is full of that today.

Here is something for people to ponder, which teams still use fullbacks. Check the stats for the teams that used them the most. You'll find something interesting. Then ask yourself why and how they use them.

I could never write someone off as being a bust after one year. Brett Favre threw 4 passes his rookie year, no completions, 2 interceptions. And then traded the following off season.

Not saying Rosen is the next Favre. But too early to say bust

Agree w this. While not QBs I definitely wrote both Jamar Fletcher and Charles Harris off as busts and I’m partially over the fence on Gesicki.

I wrote Charles Harris off as a bust the moment he was drafted. Sometimes you read the scouting report and why the team drafted him and know the guy just isn't worth the pick.

Yeah it was like, “kinda slow, short arms, dumb as a box of rocks, but high motor” - wa like, huh?

Yeah but Brett drunk up half of Buckhead in Atlanta too. Ha. I just think this is a win win deal. Hope he figures it out.

Didn’t read yet, but it only took about 10 throws for the world to see Dan Marino was for real.
While that is a true statement, it is irrelevant.

Marino was a once in a lifetime talent. No one will measure up if that is your yardstick.

Excellent article. God forbid our beat writers, with a single team view, and who’s very job is to provide such insight, turning out such quality within 24 hours!
They are terrible. Its hard to believe they are so unprepared with facts, or logic to backbup thier opinions.

I HATE ESPN, because of their interjection of politics, and PC bullcrap, but was forced to read a few of their articles the past two days, just to get real coverage.

Sad is an understatement.

Josh Allen seems to have that same arm, does that make him real?
I think one of Rosen's first throws was big time deep ball to Christian Kirk. Dan Marino also had a hall of fame coach that had gotten the most of some mediocrity at QB.

WoodStrock is the perfect example

Anybody who had David Johnson on their fantasy team will tell you the AZ offense last year didn't do Rosen any favors.

Also, it works both ways, too. Dak Prescott was thought to be a superstar after his rookie season, but things look much different now. Even in this day-and-age of instant everything, you have to give a QB an absolute minimum of two full years before reaching a conclusion. Same with college prospects. One and even two-year starters have a record of fooling NFL scouts.
